Breathing masks

Can we now debate about something relatively serious like how in bloody hell species evolution or dark energy work in the MEverse?
This is currently up there with 'Every single kind of atmospheric re-entry has you burst into flames instantly' or 'Omni-tools are made of pure light'. Have we seen anyone but Shepard actually come in contact with vacuum?

And the obvious one: the beginning of ME2. Also, anytime we visited a world that lacked any significant atmosphere in ME1 and got out of the Mako (e.g. the Moon).

Yes, but helmets were mandatory for that section.
I know, just trying to sound smarter then you.
I'm pathetic.

Wasn't part of the Derelict Reaper mission in Vacuum?
No. You were in the upper atmosphere of a brown dwarf. Not that it helps as far as being skin-friendly.

Helmets with face windows anyone? You know, so you can see the facial animations they have worked so hard on.
What's bizarre about this is that in ME2 they went and made all those Shep armors with perma-helmets.

What!! Breathing Masks you say?!? Why!?
Oh NO!! I have no choice but to cancel my pre-order! *Walks to get
teacup, sees candy wrapper..* Ooooh! Shiny!
Anyway
this thread is simply to discuss the issue, nothing more, nothing less.
Obviously folks like Terror_K are pretty passionate about the dislike
of face masks, which I can understand. I actually completely agree with
Terror's reasoning, however it's not deal-breaker for me. An option for
masks or helmets would be great.

Well, I would not be surprised if Cerberus forgot to have breathable air in the work enviroment.
Well, it does potentially save some resouces does it not?
As I said, as long as there is not an hazardous enviroment, breathing masks are just fine if its low oxygen. You dont want to run out of oxygen when you do important stuff (fighting, running, disarmong nukes etc) do you?

And having the helmet made of a tough transparent polymer is within reason and lore I'd guess off-hand.

Arrival also has a section with vacuum and it requires a permahelmet as well.
SO THAT'S THE REASON WHY WE DIDN'T SEND SQUADMATES IN ARRIVAL!!!

It's funny, because almost everyone wears a full helmet in that mission. Even the prison garrison.

I'm also of the opinion that Heretic Station was so close to vacuum as made no difference, but people love to seize on that "little air" thing, so it's not worth trying to claim it as an actual example.

Do I whine about it like Terror_K? No.
Breathing masks aren't that much of a big deal... a, how do you say it, "acceptable break from reality"?
