Having watched the leaked beta I have to say that I really, really hate the whole hooker-boot-look she has going. She's definately been Miranda-fied. I usually keep Kaidan in ME1 so her look isn't a big problem for me though, I just won't include her in any playthroughs. But I would be seriously disappointed if she had been my VS.

ur unique then as plenty of us hate kaidan :D hmm... should i keep the doushe around or ash hehe

Keep whomever you want. Why should I care? Discussion who should survive Virmire is really for another thread.

I just want to go on record as saying that I really sort of resent this notion that so many seem to have, that Ashley looks like Miranda.Truth be told... When i first saw the cover art for Mass Effect 2. I thought it was Gunnery Cheif Ashley Williams on the cover beside Shep.Just with her hair down Image IPB Some people can look really different with their hair up or down. I didn't even know who Operative Miranda Lawson was at the time. I thought the female was either Ashley or (believe it or not) Lisbeth Bayman - from Feros, just with longer hair. Image IPB

Not surprised that Ash has her hair down... before she couldn't, military, she had to have short hair, in her case, tied in a bun.. Now she's a Spectre. She can do whatever she wants.

Not exactly. Saren can attest to that.

Yep.

REALLY? REALLY, BIOWARE??? WHY?

Ash doesn't deserve this. This is why I don't like Miranda, because she's a sex icon. What did she do to deserve this? Image IPB

I think that is more of a reflection of looks/attitude, not necessarily going "rogue" haha.

Yep they are clearly are hoping all the casuals will jump from Miranda to Ashley and that's why they have modified her. I certainly won't as personality wise they're like apples and oranges.

I don't think Ashley is the new Miranda. They're two different characters but okay I get it, Bioware made Ashley join the "sex icon" bandwagon. Ashley is not that hot as Miranda, not even close.

I didn't find Miranda that attractive. I prefer Ashley's ME1 look.

Need to support this, despite it's a matter of taste. For me it's more or less like this:

ME1!Ashley > Miranda
ME1!Ashley = ME3!Ashley

Don't really feel offended by Ashley's new look, just her uniform needs some tweaking (if not done already): get rid of the white pants, make'm black, blue, less eye-catcher.

It's for the armour? That doesn't mean a lot. Other that Bioware leant that some people find dumb that some squadmates go in combat without a proper armour (myself included).
Though imo, Ashley doesn't resemble Miranda that much. But I think Ashley was already good in ME.

"hhh89" is right. The armor doesn´t mean crap.
Just look at her hair and face.
The hairstyle is practicly the same.
Her skintone is also notably lighter and her facial build has been tampered with.

The suit is the worst.
It represents a very very bad taste and looks horrendous ingame.
But as an artist, i understand that it might have looked good on the concept-board, but ingame?
Absolutely horrible.

Now BW also needs to make Miri blonde and make a new suit for her.

Link for my support-group, heavy redesign/original look for Miranda, is below.

What happens if Miranda gets a makeover for ME3, and gets a long pony tail, and bad ass armor? Then what will these people complain about?

Having read the leaked script, I can tell you all that there is are a few stern lines that Ash makes about Miranda's dress code, which makes me think that she doesn't approve (or resemble) Lawson.

You know what ever since the very first game some of my friends including me really wanted Ashley to let her hair down at some point because we knew she would be incredibly hot with her hair down.

Now that Bioware did it I'm glad. Hell I would have let her do that at some point in ME3. Of course that would mean I would be appealing to casual gamers because we all know casual gamers play games for the sexy ladies.

So Ashley approves of her own skin tight clothing?
Note: I don't find it a big deal and I know she's wearing armor, but so does Miranda (I know I know, DLC, but it happened eventually, lmao.)

I dunno. She makes a comment about preferring armor over "swimsuits" --what she feels Miranda wears-- and is happy that she's a flawed person, not some genetically superior supermodel, or something like that.

Somehow I'm able to take Ashley seriously just from the looks as opposed to Miranda who's apparently had sexiness forcefully cramped into her.
Ashleys new outfit reminds me of Kate Beckinsale in Underworld whereas Miranda's outfit feels like another layer of skin.

While I was happy when that screen of Ash wearing armor was released, my first thought was;

"She's still too skinny."

Seriously, even in the light armor sets in ME1 she didn't look that thin. It might be the angle of the shot, but its still iffy to me. Combine that with the obnoxious emphasis put into her chest, I'm still not entirely on board with Ash's looks in ME3. And before someone says something about how female armor needs those.... "Boob plates." I remember an article on Kotaku where there was an interview with a man who actually makes armor and things for a living, and he said that they're more likely to hurt you than anything else. Something about how taking an impact to the chest could easily break your sternum. They're there to be sexy, which is silly in a firefight.

If by "better" personality you mean totally different then I hope it hasn't gotten any better.

Agreed, I really liked her ME1 appearance and atitude, and it helped to greatly set her apart from the other characters, After seeing what they did with Jack's redesign, it seems that they were intent with making everyone sexier.
