I'm not Australian, so that's probably why I don't understand, but how is this so?

Ok, maybe it's because I'm speaking from a place of relative ignorance, but I've always found her voice to be quite natural sounding. Perhaps her accent isn't fitting with the slang that's usually associated with it? I assume that's what you're getting at. At any rate, I've always found myself ensorcelled by accents similar to Yvonne's, so you won't be hearing me complain any time soon.

I think everyone is interpreting the op incorrectly. They're merely stating the obvious, Ashley will replace the void of conventionally attractive woman on the Normandy. No need to lash out against the obvious.

As for the Ash=Miranda visually thing, I sort of vaguely see it, but only on very base levels. Plus, remember that Ash is still going to be wearing armour.

Ashley won't replace "the void of conventionally attractive woman on the Normandy" if she didn't survive Virmire.

I really don't get it. Besides the fact Ashley and Miranda are quite similar type of a woman, they're not too similar characterwise. And if it's all about "sexy woman", Liara is the better choice since she can't be killed in ME1 and ME2. She'll be there - always. Ashley won't be for a lot of players.

Same here, I won't be using that smurf often anyway.

I still think the majority of people chose Ash over Kaidan, quite a significant amount. It's not a bad thing that they attempted to make her "prettier," but as far as we know she will the the pretty one, unless of course you gave a well rendered femshep.

I also don't see the comparison in their personalities. They're two very different people.

Anyway, yes Ashley is the sexy looking female human aboard the ship, Vega the sexy looking male human. Her face though is not that similar to Miranda's and her character isn't either. Also, Ashley's casual suite is slightly less suggestive and she has armour. She's not replacing Miranda, she's her own character, it's unfair to judge her in any other way. You just saw a few similarities and then generalized the two characters appearance.

Let's play the final game before we do that, so we can judge fairly.

No, we do not have kangaroos in our backyard. It's hard to explain, unless you live here. Short story, sat down with some bff's to play 360 (One wanted to try ME2) after the cutscene they all pretty much say ' are you fing serious.." 

For some unknown reason men have a thing for au accent on females (it's annoying,especially on working holidays).

But see you fail to realize that they have because strong, confidefinent, tough as nails, capible woman  can't be attractive.

That was a joke.

I assume the use of certain phrases are stereotypical, and I doubt voice actors have much input to a script when its handed to them. I guess you should be glad they didn't make her quote those awful Crocodile Dundee movies.

I'm Australian and I find Miranda's accent perfectly natural, not too over the top.
