I'm currently doing a couple of ME2 playthroughs on Insanity, but when I've finished those I want to start a new challenge - Epic fail Shepard.

The idea is to playthrough both ME1 and ME2 but making as many bad decisions as possible to make ME3 as difficult as possible.

Shepard needs to survive the suicide mission in ME2 but beyond that make the worst possible decisions from the perspective of needing to battle the Reapers/Cerberus in ME3.

A couple of my initial thoughts are:
  • Kill the Rachni Queen on Noveria in ME1
  • Kill Wrex (or let Ash do it) on Virmire in ME1
  • Don't assist Captain Kirrahe's team on Virmire in ME1, so his team die
  • Leave the Collector Base for Cerberus at the end of ME2
What are people's thoughts and what decisions should I make? Also, as the objective is to make ME3 as difficult as possible, that means not maximising XP and only completing side missions that are likely to have a negative impact on the fight in ME3.

you can have as many squad mates killed in the SM as possible., so no loyalties from anyone, pick the worst team possible etc.
but i think Miranda is back in ME3 no matter what if i recall somethig i read a long while back.

Not sure if its such a good idea to construct the playthrough you are talking about.  I'm sure that playthrough will miss out on quite a bit of content in ME3 because of the dead squadmates.  But hey, you might get some interesting results in ME3.

Pacificen has a great thread explaining all the options in the SM here

Miranda is almost impossible to kill because she has a cutscene in the SM near the end, so only taking an unloyal Miranda to the final fight will do it, so I have heard.   And like I said, almost every playthrough will have Miranda live so they will have content in ME3 you will miss.

I thought about doing this, but figure it'll just lead to less content in 3 so thought frack it, got too many other playthroughs to do.

Thanks - didn't realise someone had already thought of this. Not sure I agree about sacrificing the hostages to kill Balak in BDtS; I think potentially saving the hostages is worse as you're leaving a Batarian terrorist leader alive.

This was my go at it: http://social.biowar...413/blog/16551/

^ In light of the leaked script I read, I retconned Samara. She is, in fact, dead as well. Only the Cerbies get to live another day (and both are PO'd at me for one reason or another).
