B-b-but, rainbows! Lots and lots of rainbows! Rainbows out the rear!

Nah, in all seriousness, I don't think it looks very good, either.

If you consoles guys want to be left playing the modern equivalent of pacman forever, claiming the high ground because of crappy graphics, go right ahead. The rest of the world will move on. Convincing console gamers of new tech is like convincing the old timers I know of who haven't even touched a computer, that it is indeed worth their while. Both are stubborn to a fault. Open your mind. Accept something new into your narrow little lives.

This platform would like to not be lumped in with other console gamer runtimes.;)

Well, PC sales were never even near consoles, and they never will, but dead? The worst time of PC gaming industry is around 2000 to 2005, then Steam start rising and PC gaming is doing better each day, the global PC market expanded 20% at 2010 alone, mostly due to the "Steam miracle", this week Microsoft released their AOE3 on Steam, hinting Alane Wake and more MGS pc games on steam, means they are starting to realize GFWL cant even compete Steamworks. How delusional are you to think PC gaming is dead?

The PC needs to get back to computing Pi and building graphics engines for horribly outdated consoles, just like that "other" dead platform superstar, Sega. Open your eyes, the PC wasn't intended to play your precious Crysis and Witcher games; it was designed to beautify flow-charts. Let it go, man, let it go.

Oh, yeah, and "something-something Skyrim".

This is where we try to get the thread locked by turning into a PC-console war?

I'm thinking that was the goal of the comments that started this.

Well, they won't get far. I already tried to get this thread locked once today with ponies, and it failed. I doubt platform wars will be any more successful.

You're underestimating the lock potential of a platform war. Versus talk tends to get things locked pretty quick around here.

As much as I love watching you guys belittle each other in an attempt to validate your own choices, I think we should get back to relentlessly hating on the OP just because he stated his opinion.

And if I want to play Skyrim, I'll just squint while I play Oblivion. I never finished that repetitive, paper-thin series of fetch-quests anyway, so I can kill two birds with one stone.

We could always start a MLP:FIM war. I hate that show.

There you go, the first volley is fired.

Seriously, however, DA3 with an open-world element could be very good fun. DA:O wasn't very far from an open-world as it was. anyway, so it's not a stretch to assume it could be done on a larger scale.

That's probably because Skyrim is so terribly boring it may as well be a landscape-sized corpse.

And because on the BSN every discussion has to meet a certain quota of raging and flaming. That tends to keep things lively.

Yeah, because, y'know, God forbid somebody actually has an opinion on things.

Opinions are fine, it's the whole 'your opinion sucks' mentality, simply put. People have a tendency to be nigh abusive while airing their opinions and that doesn't really promote healthy conversation.

Skyrim didn't bring anything new. They only polished what was already in Oblivion or was created by people in mods. Thus, I don't see the point of this thread.

Whether it is a minority opinion or not is irrelevent. Popularity of Skyrim is not a valid representation of quality. And what you or any other number of people believe doesn't change or invalidate what I believe.

And I would say that the first sentence of my last post sums you up pretty accurately, but that's just my opinion.Image IPB

Oh, puh-lease. It was only a bit of harmless joking around on my part. I own all major platforms and the game, Skyrim, currently the topic of this discussion that you are now derailing further, I simply pulled on some strings and watched the BioDrones go haywire. How was I supposed to know that mature adults could regress to a mental age of 5 after a snarky comment here and there? *shrugs*

Was it not obvious at some point that I wasn't being serious, is sarcasm truly that much of a lost art-form??

For what it's worth, Slimgrin, I'm sorry for belittling the PC and reducing the entire thread to petty mud-slinging, okay? Every platform has its place, for good or ill, and life's too short to bicker over inanimate objects, anyway.
