Hi
I got the game for £15 brand new as its no longer a newly launched game its normal for prices to drop. It seems tho the DLC doesnt drop in price and I have already purchased 3 dlc for the game, if I was to purchase all the other DLC's which granted does include awakenings it would cost me a whopping £45. I am sitting here considering whether to sell the dragon age I got and buy the ultimate edition which is much more reasonably priced.
Why doesnt the DLC price get updated with the main retail price?
my main question tho is if I do this do I have to start a new game or would my save work on the ultimate edition.
Thanks
cost of DLC compared to game

Buying DAO is a waste. Return what you bought, assuming you still can, and buy the Ultimate Edition when its on sale.
Your save will work with the UE.

great news thanks
hopefully will be able to get it tommorow from a shop so I dont have to wait for a delivery.
I will be losing out on what I already spent as the DLC I have brought are non refundable and I will most likely sell the retail disc of DA for less then I paid but this is still far cheaper than buying the rest in DLC.

Well I installed this and I dont have any DLC still.
Already had original dragon age origins with 3 DLC installed.
Inserted disc and ran game on xbox360.
xbox live downloaded an update and it ran of disc instead of hdd confirming it isnt same disc contents as main game.
Saved games intact.
Then installed both these discs and uninstalled the old disc.
When loading game it looks the same as before, only 3 DLC's on, no awakenings and others avilable to purchase, no awakenings.
any ideas?
in the hdd storage area, I see 6.5gig for disc1 installed bu no data for the expansion disc. I also see the DLC's there I paid for originally.

A good idea is to uninstall the old before installing the new and not installing then uninstalling.
On the PS3 all the data goes into DAO, so you probably won't see seperate files. Delete all game data, not saves, and install it all again. Log onto the servers and it should work.

while we are on the subject, I own a physical copy of DAO for PC, and just purchased the steam version of DAO ultimate 10 minutes ago. Are saves compatible in both physical and steam versions?
Does the steam version automatically install after DLing? I want to know if I should uninstall regular DAO soon or just keep playing that until Ultimate is loaded.

sorry been playing the game.
Here is what I did wrong.
I inserted the expansion disc and installled it to the hdd using the normal method of installing games to hdd and left it at that.
I then realised I was supposed to run it like a game and it has a seperate installer for the DLC's, my existing DLC's remained installed so I unselected them and let it install the rest, and to tidy up my hdd I removed the expansion installed disc of my hdd as its not needed.
So now the game works as expected with all DLC's installed and saves intact and because my existing DLC's still work I have now a spare shale and blood dragon armor DLC key as well.
