bioware please tell me the first part is rubbish:(

Whatever you thought about Shepard being the one true hero is going
to be squandered once you start Mass Effect 3. BioWare announced that
the game will be a lot more challenging than previous installments, and
it very well may be due to the added push for online co-op.
According to Shacknews,
ME3 will probably ask more from players in order to ensure how
rage-inducing it will be for those playing alone. BioWare stated that “Veteran difficulty from Mass Effect 1 and 2 will be on par with normal difficulty in Mass Effect 3.”
That doesn’t make it easy for completionists who are used to single-player mode though. Getting a good “Readiness Rating” will better your odds for a “good” ending, by which having another player there to help you out could make it easier for you.
This kind of difficulty spike should be something that’s adjusted for
however you choose to play, not be the bottom line, as it’s quickly
becoming for more and more games as of late. But come March, Shepard is
going to need some help, unless you’ve been madly playing Veteran this
whole time.

If the 'push for online co-op' is the only reason they did this, they can kiss my ****.

Veteran really wasn't too hard... as long as you didn't play like a jackass you were fine.

Unless the developers are Tecmo talking about Ninja Gaiden, I generally think exaggerate about the difficulty of their games. Bioware said we can get the best result without having to go to mp if you dont want to, and im gonna believe that.

I don't get it. Why would the multiplayer have an effect on the difficulty of the single player campaign? And if the single player campaign is more difficult, so what? Lower the difficulty level.

Haven't they told us about several modes when the beta got leaked? Something along the lines of "sit back and enjoy the story, the classic mass effect experience", or "play on a more challenging way, focus on battles"...

Pffff, 'Veteran' is super easy in both ME1 and ME2. And in ME2 even 'Insanity' was not so hard either. Once you get used to 'Insanity', it becomes almost too easy.

Seems ME3 is finally going to be challenging. Good.

Which you can. Bioware has said multiple times that you can achieve the best ending through single player only.

Multiplayer gives you more resources for single player.  Multiplayer is essentially the new form of planet scanning.

Did you need to scan all of the planets in ME2 to get enough resources to get the best ending?  No, you didn't.  Therefore, you won't need to play multiplayer to get enough resources to get the best ending in ME3.

Well, they have also stated several times that you'll be able to get the best ending on your own (and really, why shouldn't you be able to?) without doing the co-op.

As long as easy mode exists, and you can play on that mode, what's the problem?
Play it on easy! If 'veteran' is the new 'normal', then 'easy' is going to be the new 'normal'.

Multiplayer will ONLY effect your single player campaign if you import a level 20 MP character into it. You can only benefit from it. If you're a completionist who does all their sidequests or import from previous Mass Effect title you'll have as much "war assets" as an imported MP character.

Well its about damn time BioWare changed there methods.

Now I can't wait for this game..

Veteran was easy, as long as you didn't act like a nurd it was all good and cheesy.

You must be incredibly bad at gaming for this to affect you. Was normal mode in ME2 too difficult for you? Because according to what I see, ME3 easy is the new normal. Insanity in ME had some challenge to it, and I think a lot of people would really struggle if they went to rescue liara or confront benzia as soon as possible. ME2 wasn't as hard because the enemies were usually very passive and only the occasional mer group and the collector boss would actively try and flank you.

Last I checked, importing a MP character into single player meant that the character you made for multiplayer will be used as a war asset.  The resources gathered in MP would transfer to single player regardless of character level.

Nah you have to hit level 20 with your MP character for eligibility. Otherwise what would stop me from creating 10 MP characters that I never use and sticking them all in as war assets.

And most games are still easy, even on higher difficulty settings.

And those that aren't easy are more tedious than difficult.
