L.A. Noire and RAGE comes in right behind it. I overhyped L.A. Noire and RAGE was just super boring ...

L.A. Noire is never meant to be a GTA in 40s. It needs intelligent to solve the mysteries of crimes and investigations.

1. Dragon Age 2 - See rage posts from March 2011 to this day about what's wrong with DA2. The whole game is wrong.

dis tbh

I agree with GMags, sadly. I had such high hopes for DA2, and even gave it 10 playthroughs. Sad that it took that much for me to come to that conclusion, but I'm thorough.

That, and there were many other great games that came out this year, that DA2 paled in comparison.

I'm a little saddened to see how much hate abounds for RAGE and Dead Island. Both of which I enjoyed quite a bit...although I played DI before the game-breaking patches (they actually made the game more difficult, from what I hear). To expect much of a story out of a mindless zombie-killing game is a little silly, though. RAGE had the towns that evolved over time, which Kirkwall was lacking. *sigh*

Dragon Age 2 and Skyrim were the most disappointing games of 2011 for me.

Dragon Age 2 because the combat sucks and Skyrim because all the quests were dull and all the characters were flat.

I didn't have any expectations for other games this year due to unfamiliarity or hating the previous game or the genre it's being developed in, so the only one I was disappointed by was DA2. I didn't think DA2 would be as good as Origins, but I didn't think the dialog system would actually be worse than Mass Effect's, the combat so bad, the plot hooks so weak, the quests unfinished, levels reused constantly, etc.

2. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II - The first one was meh/okay, the second was an abhorrent mess of a storyline, a lackluster combat system and suffered from being crap. The only great thing about it was the visuals. Everything else was Bantha Fodder.

TFU2 wasn't a disappointment it was a damn right failure :P

Brink: The game had great ideas, amazing weapons and all stuff around, but when I played it, nobody plays multiplayer now and the AI is just failure in SP.
KZ3 and Crysis 2 MP, both of SP were pretty good, but their MP was just meh.

L.A Noire for me. Its was fun at the start but after a while it just became the same thing over and over again.

Brink was boring. Same can be said about L.A.Noire. I was also disappointed with Crysis 2 and Killzone 3.

DA2 - Do I really need to explain?
Battlefield 3 - played one game and now I only have it for the ME3 demo
Skyrim - After the Main quest and a couple of faction questlines, I got bored by the shallow characters that live in the world.
Gears of War 3 - The first week of playing it was a blast! Now it's full of people running around with the sawed off shotgun and retro lancers. I can barely get through one game now...

Can't think of one. I enjoy every 2011 game I've bought this year.

Gears 3 was awesome but I did have a BIG problem with the way the characters had changed in appearance. That change about ruined the game for me but luckily Im a huge Gears fan so I managed to overlook it......it wasn't easy though.

Dragon Age 2 ( so much has already been said.. I think my final quick review of it is a 7 or 6, no higher than an 8, but 4's are a bit unfair to me, As it does have at least above average voice acting.... loved Origins and awakening.....

yes I play on console, and no I don't believe DA2 to be better than Origins... I think they just tried to cater to gamers that never played RPGs in general.. and failed according to sales... and now I'm ranting.)

Saints Row 3 ( I think the lead writers may be different... overally main story missions feel a bit "cheap" since many are just side quest)

Dead Island (maybe not so much since I didn't have any type of expectations, high or low, before renting this game)

Forgot about this, guess thats how crappy I remember it, feels like such a long time ago. I remember watching the previews and believing that this may be my favored shooter for the 7th gen consoles... alas I'm still at a loss for a favorite shooter... Halo being closest to the top since it has such a great back story and depth.. WAY more than anything I'd expect... .. but the way its executed in its games just doesn't do it for me.

Crysis 2: As a graphics and sound showcase its alright. As a game its a horrible broken mess that I just can't forgive in an FPS. I wanted to like it but I don't hate myself enough for that.

Dragon Age 2 - Overall i gave this game 5/10, normally that wouldn't be so bad but like many others i had such high expectations and it left me throughly dissapointed.

Brink - To make the game with so much customization available and then not include a single female character to play, very dissapointing. Gameplay wise i found it tedious and something about it felt unfinished.

Bulletstorm - I really enjoyed this game, the reason i was dissapointed was because it was simply way too short. I think i finished the whole game in under 10 hours.

Echoing DA2. Looked forward so much to it, bought the Sig edition and was just left feeling numb in the end. Not in a good way, either.
It felt less like a sequel and more like a spinoff.

Was Saint's Row 3 that bad?

I haven't tried it yet, but I did see a couple of nights ago that Best Buy had the price reduced to $34.99, which is cheaper than pretty much any "new" game.

I was puzzled why it was even cheaper than Two Worlds 2...? It must be really, really awful. Image IPB
