can we go back to the party/turn-based 16bit rpg games of old? i miss those games. :(

Every JRPG still being made.
Is it the 16 bit graphics that makes it different?

Oh you might have gotten some "Lols" if that blantant remark had any truth to it. @_@ Really what is it with this site and all the damn hipster like Opinions?

We have our junkie TBS-RPG fix coming in sense of Disgaea 4 soon for PS3 with updated improved HI-RES sprites. Though I also want a new Valkyria Chronicles (key important bit coming up> on PS3) and a new Tactics Ogre, Growlanser aka Langrisser and also a new Suikoden would be nice, maybe also a new TBS-RPG Shining Force too would be bliss. As for most dissapointing game of 2011, award has to go to DA2. Skyrim is an epic sandbox game and DE:HR was a truly great follow up to the (original) DE as opposed to IW so I don't agree with anyone who says either of those two games (Skyrim or DE:HR) was bad. DE:HR, Skyrim and TW2 are my favorite games this year (haven't had chance to play Dark Souls yet but I know it's supposed to be good so I haven't put in list of favorites because haven't yet played it).

I still don't understand why people have recently started referring to things in the context of ugly '70s trousers.  Maybe it's just because I'm Old™.

I hate to say it, but Dragon Age 2.

It was a good game in it's own right, don't get me wrong. But it was a Bioware game, one of the few companys where I can usually have an extremely high expectation level and not be disappointed.

In that light, it's kind of a flop.

I don't understand your logic. Skyrim is a vast improvement over Oblivion(Morrowind, fair enough).
It just does not compute.

Spell Creation was immensely important for my ability to role play, without it magic became pointless to me.

That old spell creation system was terrible. It was overly restrictive, I could never make the spell I wante because the game kept going"no, you don't".

So instead of tweaking it or fixing what sucked Bethesda just removed it. I'd prefer having it and be difficult then not.

Obviously they didn't h ave a suitable replacement for it but still hating the whole game for one aspect like that is just silly.

If it was games I played, It has to be Binding of Isaac, it is one of the all-time worst POS games I have ever played, that or Super Meat Boy for being impossibly confusing/hard (although for SMB its not really a fair statement since I gave up after the controls made no sense)

Confusing how? The two games are meant to be incredibily difficult and not for the people who cry about a game being unfair.

Nothing's difficult to understand about those games. They're just hard, that's all.

It didn't need a replacement, it was an optional feature that many people (like myself) deeply enjoyed.

Binding of Isaac was straightforward, and not hard, but heavily luck based, I can still kill pretty much any boss with almost no upgrades, but a large portion of that game is just getting flat out lucky in terms of pickups/pathing, that and it was buggy as hell (also some bosses/enemy layouts were loleasy, while others were tedious or downright stupid).

As for SMB, it was the  one I was referring to, I couldn't figure out the damn long jump and some of the other controls so I just *shrugged* and moved on, didn't give it a fair chance, which is what I am mentioning.

Reading must be hard for people, the reference for controls was for SMB (Super Meat Boy). Binding of Isaac as I've explained, isn't hard, just poorly developed, buggy, and overall a random game which could as easily have been replaced by flipping a coin to decide if you win or lose. Go generate some random numbers in excel if thats your fancy.

Loved Dragon Age 2. Sometimes I feel it's just the in thing to do not to like it. Hated Skyrim, Homefront, and Mortal Kombat Arkade Kollection if you can count that.

For me, Crysis 2 Multiplayer was poor.

Modern Warfare 3, I didn't pay £40 for a map pack.

Homefront, nice idea put poorly executed.

So the game is a dissapointment? Your opinoin I guess...not matter how petty it is. Although for a disspointing game you do post on their forums an awful lot (though most of it is negitive threads).

I knew it would be a disappointment, but i couldn've never thought it would suck SO much....

Dungeon Siege III .  Laughingstock of 2011, torn apart by everyone but consol fanbois.

A complete and utter waste of money. I wouldn't even accept it as a gift since it
would only take up space on my shelf with REAL PC games... where it doesn't belong.

Skyrim is not pretty.

It's been nominated for Best Visual Arts by the Game Developers Choice Awards

It will be competing against Uncharted 3, Rayman Origins, BF3 and something called "El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron"

What was so bad about DSIII, I loved it. Reminded me of the likes of Diablo and Torchlight. I'd say it's the most underrated game of 2011.

Tropico 4. Was too much of a standalone expansion.
