Also, it is not clear what's happening with your video card tests. Do you mean that it works okay on the nvidia if the Intel is disabled? This would actually be adviseable for almost any game you care to mention; because most of the on-board Intel chips are very low performance, not really designed for hardware acceleration games.
Also, please register your game on here. Helps show you have a genuine copy.

Given the comparatively low performance of the GT 520, it amounts to six of one versus half a dozen of the other.

But is it really as bad as the on-board Intel? (Maybe I should have noticed the 2 in the 520 sooner!) Especially when factoring in Drivers*? If so, then I must edit my previous. Still, underpower video cards in ME2 I thought showed problems more like lack of detection of objects supposed to be selectable. E.g. the med station in the first mission after you "wake up". If it's so underpowered that it can't support the game I would hope that ME2 is coded so as to not detect it as a supported card and thus refuse to run. Rather than run then crash.
* Though I haven't had a 3dfx/nvidia card that I liked since the 7600GT and the 6600GT before it, until a hideous 8800GT Super+ turned me off nvidia.

I just had it in a side by side comparison for something else:
http://www.gpureview...1=650&card2=574
Here is the GPU chart of the GT 520 next to the minimum:
http://www.gpureview...1=650&card2=180
It only has a 64 bit memory system so that limits it in games to 128 MBs of VRAM, effectively HALF of what ME-2 expects to be available. The 520 is just too slow.
Skyrim won't perform at all well on a GT 520, and its requirements are less well-defined than ME-2's are.

If your PC is running a Intel HD 3000 graphics driver, when you try to open the menu it will result in a crash and will bring you back to windows. there is however a solution that dose not require you to go out and by a new PC the solution is to use the older .2361 drivers.
you can download this from
http://www.wikidrive...MA_15.22.1.2361
once you install that the game will function beautifully. you can hit escape all day long and you won't crash to desktop
Thanks again everyone. See you around.

Just a quick note, if anyone has a issue installing the older driver, run your computer in safe mode, that'll install it correctly.
Thanks a lot, back to playing Mass Effect 1 and 2 without any worries, was a pain in the arse worrying about quick saving all the time.
I spammed the Esc key when it was fixed.
Never updating that driver again.
