I accidentally started a relationship with Ashley in ME1. Being as I find her incredibly annoying with her "Skipper" and poetry, I went with Tali in ME2. I knew it was a bad idea to save Ash instead of Kaiden. What I want to know is if this could possibly have any serious consequences in ME3 or if they will just be minor things, such as not being able to have Ash as a squad member.

No nothing serious. (hopefully). Looks like you just get some alternate dialogue. That said if you want to replay ME2 (and are on PC or 360.) you can remove your Ash romance flag and not have to deal with it (or just save Kaidan).

i think the worst is an uncomfortable conversation, nothing more grave than that. Why pick that particular one over the other is beyond me, but it wont stop Ashley from being a squadmate.

For future reference, if you don't want to get ninjamanced by Ashley, when she has her "complaining about aliens" conversation, pick the dialogue option on the left of the wheel. This will prevent her from trying to romance you.

As for the "cheating" consequences, I doubt that it'll be anything major. You'll probably just tell Ashley that it's over and it'll be fine.

Wow, those replies were fast. Thanks.
I have to remember that ninjamanced term, cracked me up.

You might actually enjoy the conversation in ME3, since you don't really seem a fan of Ash, you'll probably get some amusement from the really nasty renegade conversation choices, as I imagine the slightly xenophobic Ash would have a few words for being tossed for a alien, while Shep might be able to get some vindictive lines to really jab it to her.
You might do a run through ME 1 without picking Ash, or just reload a save from earlier in the game and recompleting it. Since, by this point, most people would be able to do a quick run through of the game in a single day, there's no real reason to go into the game with this set up unless it's something you're actually intereseted in seeing. That and the follow up run through of ME 2 will probably take you a weekend, assuming you bother with the collection quests and other extras, and then you'll not have to deal with any Ash annoyance in the third game.

Couldn't you just break up with her in Mass Effect?

My question is: if you're no fan of Ashley, why didn't you break up with her when you had the chance? Were you trying her out?

I wasn't trying her out. As the title says it was by accident. Also, to the person asking about why I'm mentioning it now when I've almost finished ME2, it's because I just want to know if there would be consequences. Honestly I wouldn't care what happens. It is just a game after all.

Too bad Tali's death didn't involve a nuke.

"Ninjamanced" *g*
Sorry, Darius ... you could have taken Liara instead: no Ashley-romance then, just a "catfight" and there you can decide for Liara. Easy deal.
If you want to go for Tali without romancing someone in ME1 ... uhh ... either be professional to Ashley (pull the Commander card) or "lets stay friends" with Liara - should do the trick.

Did you save before you made the call to save Ashley or Kaiden?

Seeing as Ashley only complained about having Wrex and Garrus onboard, she might not have a problem with losing to Tali, whilst she is an alien she's also more humanoid than turians and krogans.

Have you seen Tali without the suit?

I uimagine quarians like a mix of drells and turians.

I'm going by her mammalian attributes, Ashley also didn't have much to say about Liara either

Why is that?
We dont know what they look like exactly, but what we do know supports them looking very much like humans.
