So, I gotta know why people are such a-holes toward fenris and anders, is it because you can romance them if you're a guy hawke?

I find Fenris to be a sullen whiner... and I find Anders to be a sullen whiner who is also a complete psychopath at times.

Still, it doesnt mean that you can pick on them, fenris does seem like a whiner at times, but he admits it, and anders well I kinda agree on that one... But how would you feel of you were I their shoes?

I admit, I do find them to be whiners at times, but that doesnt give people the right to make fun of them.

I agree highly with esper. fenris was a slave who was put through a brutal tourture and he remebers nothing of his past, and anders...dont even get me started...

No. It because

1. )  Neutral Diplomatic Hawke is neither support mages or Templar. Therefore it's pointless to complaint to him. He will never agree on both sides no matter what..

2. )  They are complaining for 7 years. Sarcastic Hawke suppose to nail their head with her sarcasm.. Instead she makes jokes.  There goes my Roleplaying. Thanks to Paraphrasing and VA. It gets so boring to the point all their extreme emotional response only annoy me. But of course, neither diplomatic or Sarcastic Hawkes can understand me. Why should they? They are not my characters. None of them are. But ignore that.

3. )  Fenris's voice sound calm and yet he is bad tempered. I just feel that his calm voice is not suitable with his persona. He thrashes bottle of wine for no apparent reasons just to show his anger. But of course neither sarcastic or diplomatic Hawkes can understand how upset am I as I take it as rude gesture. 

4. ) Anders is ok despite his constant complaint until he triggers world war, And that's the only time I feel Hawke truly become my character as he show his anger despite being true diplomat all the time. Even sarcastic Hawke  impress me as she shows the anger like never before. I wish they could stay true to what I expected them to behave, just like that..  But alas... It's near the end game already.

5. ) Strange thing is this 2 most bitterest characters are the ones that are completely useless for me as I don't use healer or warrior at all. Hence, why they become the most hatred of all the companions. Ironically, the companions that are quite ok for me are not romanceable like Varric, Aveline, Sebastian and Bethany. It's really sucks. If I have to go through that again in DA 3, then I better play solo.

Fenris is like from Final Fantasy series. Thus, my only regret is I could not sell him to slavery earlier.

I know? How could i be so hurtful to fictional characters who are not real in the least? That's so insensitive of me.

By the way, I've never come and blasted either Anders or Fenris, although I have in the past complained about Fenris' spiky outfit as being not in my taste and Anders being the most irresponsible fighter of a cause ever. But that whole conversation is being discussed in another thread.

Fenris has no hook and is boring.

Okay, to both gibb shepard and dave of canada, (sarcastically) wow guys, if fenris and anders were real...(suddenly serious)...they wouldnt care..well maybe anders, im not being mean to him, but he is sensitive in some views, and fenris is not as effed up in the head, neither of them are, as some might think, right up until the start glowing and kill people mindlessly. But if you wanna make fun of some one...try merrill or...someother chacter...even hawke. If you wanna see something that mn akes fun of hawke, watch sassy gay hawke that has anders in it, its soooo funny!

I can definitely see the irony of me complaining about this, but then unlike forums, you play games specifically to have fun, and my idea of fun is not being lectured about mages for the next 30/40 hours.

Anders and Fenris have a good reason both of them to 'whine' and 'whine' about mages. Personally I found Anders more creepy in awakening were I (pun only halfly intented) thought of him as a ticking bomb that were hiding it all behind a far too humours facade.
But you are fighting a losing battle Andrastes_hammer. Emo og whiner is put on every character people don't like which basically means that the labels has lost the meaning. I at least don't know what emo means anymore.
There are reasonable people out here with both proper critque and dislike as well as the love for the characters. Just ignore anything that starts with whine, emo or final fantasy character and you will be much happier.

Fenris (and Merril) is a damned anime elf. Good enough reason for anyone to loathe the creature.
Anders is whiny, dumb, and annoying.

The rest of the cast is pretty good.
