Because as characters I feel that they never go anywhere, they never grow as people from the time they are introduced. When you first met Fenris and Anders you pretty much knew as much as you needed about them: they're both a bunch of whiners who rarely talk about anything but how much they hate mages/templars. Add this to the fact that the game had a near decade long story and it gets a little dull. I often wished that one of the choices in conversations with them was something around "Ok I get it! You had a rough life because of Mages/Templars! Move on with your life!"

yeah, Fenris and Anders I had no problem with. in fact they compliment each other well in terms of extreme points of view, something the story of Dragon Age II actually needed to have to blind hatred for, although by act III the lines blur for Fenris, and Anders has a chance to be redeemed.
You reffered to anyone not agreeing with you as stupid. You also labled everyone using the term jerpg as a racist. I do belive some people might take that as an insult.

And Anders gradually grows more and more paranoid that he pushes everyone but Varic and a friend Hawke away. And if Hawke is rival then Anders loses his mind. It's also impossible to support his mage freedom cause while also disapproving his merging with Justice.
