Since there are many women-chars present on this Forum who are caring about their beauty, I wonder if there are actually that many girls/women playing as such, or if there are more boys/men being hot to play a beautiful woman (for whatever reason). Or are there even Girls who want to play their handsome man? Whatever transgenderious plans and reasons you might have or have not for playing whatever, be so nice to post them and the gender of your main char (feel free to add race/class) and your real gender.

I begin with my boring self as an example:

I am male, playing as such (city elf rogue). I wouldn't be shy to play a woman char, I just dont feel the desire...

So, what abot you?

EDIT: Very interesting statements that far! Btw, since one or two ppl implied otherwise, I am seriously absolutely neutral about your gaming intentions and dont want to make a fun of anyone, I see this as an interesting poll. Keep it up!

This makes me think of my gender-bending group...

I'll be playing both genders and all origins eventually, but my "main" (first character/avatar) is a male dalish rogue with a later ranger specialization. I myself am female, and I actually prefer playing males. And no, it's not becuase I "prefer to look at a guy's pixel back/butt for hours."  :P "Masculine" things have always interested me more than "feminine" things, and I don't think of characters as myself when I play them. I play what I find interesting, and I just tend to gravitate towards males when I come up with character concepts.

My first playthrough will also be boring old me, Becca, female human noble warrior.  I do however like to experience all of the possible paths so will also play a male, prob only human and elf, not really big on male dwarves and from what I understand (though this may be completely wrong) other than romances the only major gender differences to story will be the city elf origin.

As it so happens I've developed a serious crush on the PC they showed in the game play trailers, I believe I saw somewhere his name was Malcolm who I then set about making (with serious help from some other forumites) who is currently my Avatar, normally my Avatar would be female to match my gender but I so Posted Image this dude, I can't help looking at him!

As far as the beauty thing goes, I'm not majorly bothered about making super hot characters but who wants to sit looking at a minging character all day?  And as I tend to base characters, all be it loosely on myself, why would I choose to make myself ugly?  Hell at least I get to choose in fantasy land!Posted Image

I'm female and I generally play as a female first. Right now, I'm leaning toward my necromancer, Cybele, as my first play through. I don't have a problem per se playing male characters, and I'm exploring making a few at the moment, but if the story of this game is as compelling for me as ME's story was, I might spoil myself for the other gender. I tried playing a male Shepard after playing through as a female, and the game just didn't feel right. It was like finally seeing a favorite novel made into a movie and having all your mental images of the characters spoiled by those actors/actresses chosen to play; ME's main character was just set in my head as "female" after those early playthroughs.

As far as beaty goes, I'm not terribly interested in it so long as I'm not completely turned off by the appearance of the character in question. Stereotypical beauty is less interesting to me than a character I mess with and find interesting.

I'm female too, and I like to play both genders. What I don't like is playing female warriors who are almost invincible in the later game but almost wear no armor.

Well, my avatar, a female human noble warrior, is the chosen character for my first playthrough. I'm a woman as well and I like to play as myself, first, when given the option. But my male dalish elf rogue is my handsome man :P and I'll totally play as him in my second playthrough.

For my first playthrough I am playing a female character, and I am female myself. But I do intend to play male mage on my second playthrough as well.

I consider neither of them to be utterly beautiful or handsome, especially not my mage Charid. My motivation is mostly curiosity... I'm curios to see how differently the game will unfold whether I play with a female elf or a human male...

And of course roleplaying... on my first playthrough I play a mostly free-spirited, light-hearted and cheeky female city elf.

My second playthrough is with a male mage who is consumed by is studies and his lust for wisdom and research, and who is completely oblivious to his surroundings, and very inexperienced in social situations, relationships and being a leader.

So for me the "Gender bending" is mostly about roleplaying and experiencing different outcomes in the game. :)

I typically play a male character first time through, but will also play all races and sexes to enjoy all aspects of the game. But only if the game keeps my interest.

I'm Male and the first character I've created is a Human Female Mage.

I created her first because I've played her in many computer games before, the first time in EverQuest.

I've been role-playing since the mid-eighties and have no hang up about playing a male or female character.  I try and alternate my own characters between the sexes as it's interesting to explore situations from a different perspective.

Personally I prefer to play spell casters, and in previous games the male frame designed to be a typical hero just looks wrong in a robe.  Think of it as "The Rock" playing a wizard, the image just isn't right.

Is there some problem with this behaviour?

If you happier that people stick to their own gender when creating characters, then how about race, should only real life Elves and Dwarves play Elves and Dwarves?   :)

I'm a guy,I always play as female characters becos i prefer looking at a womans ass running around the screen then a guys ass..also it's more fun changing armors on female characters cos they can look more sexy,i dont really care about a male character how he looks in armor

Personally I'm a guy, and will play all of them just for the experience. In games like these I enjoy playing a female toon after playing through as a male. So much of the dialouge changes if your male or female that it makes it enjoyable and at times a must (if you want to see everything the developers put thier work into) to play both.

My soulmate!

I'm a female and I'll be playing a male dalish warrior first time through. I recognise your interest in masculine things, as I'm a martial artist and I'm quite well muscled. I just haaaate playing those spindly thin females with huge breasts. It seems so wrong with them wielding huge swords and wearing next to no armour to protect themselves. It's hateful, I say. You hear what I say, designers!?

I'm male and I've yet to play a female character in any game unless there was no other option (i.e. Amazon/Assassin/Sorcerer in D2). I may try a female after playing through all classes and races as a male, just to see if there really is a ton of difference in the story arc.

I'm a girl and all my characters are girls. I don't mind playing as a man in video games but if given the choice I would much rather play as a women.

Woman here, usually playing as a man. It depends on the story, really. My characters are never me so I'm in it for the roleplaying experience. At the same time, why play as a woman for 60+ hours when I am one myself? I'd much rather experience something as the opposite gender since I don't have that chance in real life.

I'm a guy and I play as whichever I have a character idea for. At the moment, that means a female city elf. I prefer being male for the romances, though, but I suspect there will be at least a second playthrough for this game.

I'm a guy and I play both however I typically choose female characters more. I don't really understand it myself but most of the time I just find male PCs to be utterly "meh". It's not even a "having a pretty backside to stare at" thing either because I prefer female warriors to be properly armored whenever possible. Idk might be perception thing, I always prefer agility over strength and perhaps female characters better represent that agility whereas male ones represent brute strength?

I'm female and pretty much all of my custom characters aside from KotOR2's Exile are female. I may eventually make a guy for DA:O just to see how many things are different.

Me, as a male, I'm having it pretty balanced. It tend to create characters vowed to brutish strength as males, whereas I play intelligence/cunning/magic-focused characters as females. Don't know why, for me, it just seems to fit.

First play through will be my mage, an elven lady. Second is most likely to be my Human Noble Warrior.
