Will however give it a whirl down the track playing as a woman, just to see if there are any different story sections (Apart from romances).
And to perhaps have a gawk or two if the mood takes.
Wait. Did I say that aloud?

Whenever I think of a character idea I tend to think of a bunch of random things about them at the same time, and I usually have some idea whether they'll be male or female. If not, I just flip a coin or something.

Anyway, I can only recommend gender-bending in RPGs, the first time it's weird, later it's quite rewarding because you approach things very differently.

Hm... My apologies for all the extra posts.. Seems that there has been some sort of net problems on my side. I'd appreciate it if some moderator could delete them for me. Thanks.
Aw, and here I was, thinking you posting so many times because you really liked what I said.
In any case... Agreed on the female game models/armors.

In any case... Agreed on the female game models/armors.At least Dragon Age doesn't have any "chainmail bikinis" and the most revealing armors are still modest compared to other games... And they're only like that for a few of the light armors.
Oh I did like what you said. I was just worried the others would get annoyed.
If what you're saying about the armors not being revealing, then that's great. Seems Bioware is rather sensible on that area, as there wasn't any such armors in Mass Effect or KoTOR either. <3

If I have enough steam left after that, I'll replay male, but I usually lose interest. Or, I end up getting sick of watching my male avatar run around. I'm very picky with men, and it's easy for male avatars to look like douchebags. (Avatars only. Nothing against the real life versions.)

I do usually prefer to play as a female in RPGs though, mainly I think because I don't see myself as *being* my character, but as having a relationship with my character. I'm going to spend time with this character, and I've seen all the possible male stereotypical hero characters in movies before. I like being able to imagine a hero story with a female lead, while still keeping her distinctly female - too often in action movies the only way a woman gets a hero role is if she acts just like a man, or if the man still has to come to her rescue at some point.
Oh, actually very well put, I should've written that, had I just thought of it.<_<

I'm male and plan to do my first playthrough as a female, second as a male (so I can see how the two genders differ). I like this reasoning, too. This is generally why I never gender-bend in table-top RPGs. There are always a plethora of male PCs running around. Let's put a female in their midst and let her be a real woman rather than just another man trapped in a woman's body.

In al lot of pop fiction I have preferred the female characters including Buffy, Dark Angel, Kira in Deep space 9 and Dizzy from Space Ship Troopers.
So when I play a video game I want to create and play a female charater who can be another fictional heroine.
Strangely enough, my favourite female charactewrs are warrior/fighting/military types, while any male character I have admired have been more intelligent and pacific in nature (e.g. Mulder).

Yup, that's what I'm saying. Except for the Light armors, the female armor sets are pretty much just like their male counterparts. You can check out examples at the Dragon Age Tome of Knowledge.

Plus, I'm a fan of R.A. Salvatores books and women are just more powerful as mages.

My first character will probably be one that's based on myself, to be honest. XD
I do it with all of my new games. Make a mini-me and run around in-game, learning the controls on the way~ Once I've gotten a good handle on it, I'll just go back and make a new character. :3
First playthrough is probably going to be on a Human Noble... Rouge, I think.
Second and third'll be city elf and dwarf commoner.
... I don't really play guys. I don't usually 'connect' well with them, but hey... Maybe I'll give it a go!
