Hi guys
Bought the ultimate edition and ready to kick in
I have been reading everything I can about this game and one thing bugs me
I heard its impossible to finish game without at least one mage
I want to play at normal difficulty without mages

I will play either as Dual wield warrior or dual wield rogue
with Dwarf companion, alistar and Leliana or dog probably Leliana

Is it possible to win fights against ogres and revenants without mage using stealth, traps, bombs and to give everyone bows ?

anyone even tried this lol :D
are bombs expensive to made
I was thinkin when I am off to orzamar I heard its loong mission so to bring like 300 400 bombs :DDDDDD

what would you suggest rogue or warrior :$$$

Those everyones are lying. I rarely use glyphs or force fields even when I use mages.

Mages are useful, but not mandatory. If you don't use mages, you need to adjust your tactics accordingly.

I've never not used a mage (mostly because I love Morrigan and like having the healing spells) but I don't use the glyphs and stat boosts either. So use whatever/whoever you like.

The only class I found myself feeling forced to carry around was a rogue so I could open chests/locks/disarm traps.

Rogues have more uses for dual wielding if I go by memory.

Also, I normally roll with a mage if for nothing else healing. Comes in handy on the higher difficulties.

Not only can you beat the game as any class but you can actually solo the entire game as any class on nightmare and still win.  No class is mandatory.

One thing is true about mages, though: they benefit FAR more than any other class from a run-through on the main DA:O campaign due to the extra bonus spells you earn.  Warriors are basically done with major improvements after about 8 talents.  Rogues will likely want more than that, but it's fairly incremental after about a set of 12 core talents.  Mages would dearly love a full boat because the spell game is so riddled with immunities, not to mention 4th tier useful spells piled on 3 levels of junk you'd never use and don't want.

BTW, I'd say a rogue is far more "mandatory" than a mage, though you can open all chests and disarm all traps with 70<=Cunning, rogue or not.  That's a lot of "lost" points for a character that would prefer to have them in a different attribute.  Rogues are simply the only class where a high cunning score also improves their fighting abilities.

No mage party is possible, but you must spent some points in Magic for health poultice, so your poultices be more effective and save cost to replace mage for healing. magic give mental resistance as well. But don't don't put too much on it, Magic 20 is enough for all non mage characters

If you are playing Templar, maybe ad more Magic but not exceed Magic 30, and high Will Power about 30 or above, if you want, your Templar will become more effective. Templar also have magic you know.

A mage in the party is not a necessity. I have played with a party of one Warrior with archery and 3 rangers. The rangers can each call a pet if you play on the PC. Which will give you a party of 7. If you are on the consoles only one pet which will give a party of five. You will need some potions depending on how you build the party. Playing with out mages is most definitely doable. Playing without a rogue is doable just more difficult because you character has to have more points in cunning to open chests and disarm traps. Points that could be put to better use unless your character is a rogue. You can have three mages and any other class, but an all mage party is not possible. In fact the most you can have of any one class is three depending on the class of  your warden.

the perfect party member for me is

2 warriors (1 Templar-Champion/PC, 1 Templar-Berserker/Alistair), 1 rogue (Bard-Ranger Archer/Leliana) and 1 mage (Shapeshifter-Spirit Healer Nuker/Morrigan) in every situations.

Oh yes i almost forgot, (spoiler), in Brecilian Forest i think you will need at least a mage in the party or all will dead in a mysterious camp....

Wake up? There is your mistake, do NOT rest, leave straight away.

No, the chance of waking up in that camp is not actually based on the character class, but more on each character's willpower stat. That is why you will tend to see mage characters waking up more often due to them naturally having higher willpower than most other classes, but any characters with high enough willpower will stay awake. For example, during various time I have been there, my Morrigan usually fails to stay awake as she is acquired rather early and I don't usually add any more willpower to my mage party members upon level ups, pure magic stat all the way.

I see...once bring two mages in one of my playthrough, Wayne and Morrigan, only Wayne wake up, maybe like you said she have more willpower, and she got trouble because she is not a damager lol, only have Arcane Bolt and Stone Fist.

Not true. When you try to leave you will still have to fight the shade and you can loot the camp afterwards. This way you avoid the unconscious issue and you have a full party to fight the shade.

Once you enter, you shouldn't be able to leave without a fight.

I never really used a mage apart from Morganna, and she isn't very good with healing. So yeah.

I played a Duel Wield Warrior, and I basically slaughted the end-game boss... Easy as pie... Using the attack speed booster and such.
