Hi there, I hate to make an account and immediately ask for help, but I just recently got NWN2 off Steam on sale, and I'm having an issue with the toolset. I've not been able to find any answers on google or on Atari's forums, so I'd really appreciate any advice.

Everything in the toolset seems to function fine, except when I try to create an item (or creature, or anything else), the preview window is always just a blank blue screen no matter what I do. I've toggled previews on and off repeatedly, reinstalled the toolset, restarted my computer and run with nothing but the toolset on, zoomed way in and way
out, and etc, but just nothing seems to work.  While items don't show up at all, I get this weird kind of silhouette with creatures, but only if I zoom way in.

Obviously not being able to see what I'm doing makes the blueprints essentially useless to me, so if anyone here has any ideas as to what the problem might be, please post.

The preview pane uses the same lighting as the last opened area, so try opening up an area, or creating a new area, and fiddling with the different display options (i.e. turn off fog, area far clip, shadows, etc.). Also, make sure items are set to display on your show/hide drop-down menu.

Holy crap that actually worked. I think it was the far clip that was doing it. Thank you VERY much. I was finding absolutely nothing helpful anywhere about this, and I never thought of the area display settings.

That's a great tip. I never thought of that.

I was looking at a couple OC areas the last couple of days and I managed to scrub my preview pane blank.  I found this message and just had to bump it up with another big thank you!
