Is it actually possible to avoid the opening questioning for the Arrival DLC?
I'd actually like to have everything involving it to be post game and not pre-SM

No. The conversation with admiral Hackett is scripted to occur the first time you access shep's private terminal after completing the Horizon mission. But once you worked through the conversation you can leave the mission alone and do it later whenever it suits you.

Only way would be to uninstall the dlc and only put it back after the SM.

May have to go and try Shep's terminal up in his quarters then.
I dont exactly want to delete and reinstall it every time I wanna avoid the opening scene since there really isnt anything to gain like using the same trick in Dragon Age Awakening.

That triggers the Hackett call too. It only lets you skip the "I'll take it in my quarters" bit.

I know it sounds silly, but that's the only way you can do that. Just remember to uninstall it BEFORE Horizon. If you start Horizon and the DLC isn't yet uninstalled, it will be locked in and you will have to start a new playthrough. Once you're done with the suicide mission, go back and redownload it. The same goes for Lair of the Shadow Broker.
