Hello everyone,

I'm having some trouble installing the 'bring down the sky' DLC on my computer. Each time I try to run the installer, it asks me for permission and, when granted, proceeds to give me an error message similar in every way to this one: "Mass Effect: Bring down the sky setup, Mass effect not found. Please reinstall the game from the original source and try again."

At first I thought this might be due to that registration process, in which we have to type our serial number to verify that our copy of the game is legal. But I can run Mass Effect just fine. (In other words, there is no extra window asking me to verify my copy.)

On my 'gaming' notebook, there are four hard disk drives: The OS drive: (C:), on which I do not install games for obvious reasons; the Backup drive: (D:), which is used by the weekly back up system, etc.; And two other drives, used for installing games and whatnot.

Installing the 1.02 patch for mass effect 1 worked fine, so I don't think that the DLC installer can't find the mass effect installation folder. So I wanted to ask for your opinions before reinstalling mass effect 1, which might prove to be a waste of time.

It might be useful to know that I just downloaded the english version of the DLC here: http://masseffect.bi...nthesky_pc.html , without typing any code or anything.

I've also included my system specifications, which I deem unnecessary:

*Product: Mass Effect 1, Physical copy, PC version. Bought from Amazon.UK, exact vendor unknown.

*System: -Processor: Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @2.00 Ghz (8 CPU's). (Note: Yes, 8 CPU's.)
-Display: Both Intel HD graphics Family AND nvidia geforce GT540M. Both have 1gb of dedicated mem.
(I can switch between those two and the nvidia chip uses all 8 CPU's.)
                  -VRAM: 8192 MB.
                  -Sound: RTKVHD64.sys, version 6.00.0001.6324 (English.)
                  -OS: Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
-DirectX: 11, along with those installed from Mass Effect 1 and 2.

EDIT: It seems that I found the source of my problem, and had to uninstall the game manually.
