Yes, it does affect us because we have to keep checking back. With steam we could stop this silly game and be secure knowing it's on the way. Seriously. Wow.

I won't be upset unless it's november 3rd and the link is still unavailable. I've never had any issues with D2D, and I've always had incredibly fast download speeds from them. Can't play it till the 3rd anyway, so whether I DL it now, or later tonight it doesn't make much of a difference. No need to get your panties in a bunch.

Yeah..... It's way later now.... :/ This is my first pre-load from D2D so I don't know if they are usually tardy but I'd really love to start this going, I guess it's ok if it's ready at least sometime before tonight...

D2D is normally not this late with this sort of thing, my SPORE preload started when they said it would (last year). It is likely they are running into some unforeseen issues -probably having to do with how popular this game is and how many pre-loads they are expecting.

And uncalled for! They are offering preloads
from the goodness of their own hearts(unlike

The preload aspect is appealing for me because the day of game release is basically one of the two busiest days of my workweek. I anticipate that if left to download it on release day, I won't be able to play it at all. If I can get the downloading out of the way on the weekend, at least I know I'll be able to enjoy the game on day one. That's where my personal frustration with all this comes from...

Look, I am used to Stardock type digital downloading, so this new type of (oops even 2 days before the official physical release we are unable to get it together!) is new to me. I'm playing Elemental for chrisake. And that is coming 2010. It's poor form, and a steroid shot for Steam. Also, 2 Mbps isn't a saftey net.

I hope the speed will be alright, I can download at 1.000 kb/s normally but with the one game I bought from D2D so far (Fort Zombie) I only got 20 kb/s...

That's funny that D2D has had the pre-load option announced for the longest but Steam is the one that managed to get it off without a hitch. My copy has been pre-loaded for over 2 hours now.

DUDE honestly i did'int care when the pre load did'int start when it did but i got a email saying it's time to pre load go ahead and i go on my account and still can't freaking download it im getting so ******'t off now to me that was like a hahaha go ahead try to pre load oh ya you can't stupid you hahaha rigth in my face it's frustrating because i won't be able to pre load it if i can't do it today and im gona get home on the 4rth and goin to have to wait even longer before i can play coz i got to download it god damn man shoud of want with my initial instinct and wen't with steam!!!
