If there is a matchmaking service, will it only be provided by Origin?
Can I only buy the game on Origin? (In other words, can I buy it on Steam?)
Also, cannon/ lore wise, is the Galaxy at War like a simulation where you make the people (players) stronger and dying in the simulation is saying: get better if you want to save the galaxy. Therefore, you have stronger people in the galactic community to fight the Repears. Or is it you fighting a whole bunch of low-life mercenaries who funnel through a tube for the fun of it?

For the 360, is it only through Live Friends you can match or will there be something like a Looking for Person/Group option?

OP: There should be an official FAQ that answers most of your matchmaking questions. In short, there will be matchmaking.
As far as I know, the EA/Valve partnership over Steam has ended, so no, ME3 will not be available on Steam. I don't know what other downloadable services offer it.
Galaxy at War is the actual infantry going toe to toe with the enemy forces; no simulation, but for real. As you level up from fighting off the enemy and completing objectives, you gain war assets that you have the option to use in the campaign if you have need of them.

i'm thinking the will have matching making like they do on COD. wont know how they'll do it till i play it when ever the demo comes out.
I hope not. Call of Duty is on P2P servers. They should have dedicated servers like Gears of War 3. I'm sure EA can pay for it.

Will there be a matchmaking service provided on the PC for the Galaxy at War feature for ME3? XBOX has XBOX Live and the PS has PSN. Will you have your own servers and not make the mistake of Gears of War 2?

Although instructed not to discuss this...I will say for PC, Origin use is forced upon you, and there are many negative impliciations which you should educate yourself about so you can make an informed decision. As for steam release, not happening, all copies are either retail or digital, but all have the condition of Origin. I highly doubt, even if they worked out that whole DLC fight, they would get ME3. Although I personally would be content to have an Origin free version of the game from my local retailer.
As for dedicated servers or P2P...I don't believe its been mentioned but P2P seems likely (with of course main server for matchmaking/searching w.e....I don't think it will be the ancient style)
