Because we're talking an entire character and mission. 

Zaeed was available to everyone.
Shale was available to everyone. 
Sebastian was available to everyone. 
The ME3 on should be available to everyone. 

So? It's a character and a mission. As in, you don't need it.

It's part of the CE content, so the obvious answer (one Chris himself answered at the beginning of this thread) is no.

That depends on how you read the CE pic on the ME3 website. Everything BUT the squaddie and missions says exclusive, which is why we're asking this very simple question. 

Its an old image. The trailer for the N7 edition lumps all the CE dlc, character included, under the word 'bonus'.

If he had just answered the question with a 'yes' or a 'no', we wouldn't even have to discuss this. I don't care if it's an old image. It's what they're showing on amazon.com/what they're promising the customer. 

That picture only appears with the CE. They're only promising the additional character with the CE.

I would if I could, damn, I want to buy the Collector's edition, but unfortunately, Mass Effect 3 is not available where I live, not even the standard edition.

But that is not even the point, if the collector's edition squadmate is the prothean that was revlead way back, then it's wrong not to include it in the game itself.

Yes. That and because it (probably) have major impact in the story, or at least have a deep connection to what is happening. He would not be just some guy that you would take to fight with you.

That's pointless.

The entire purpose of the extra $20 into the CE is for the extra content. You aren't getting anything for free, you're buying it in a bundle at a reduced price.

One thing is an artbook, soundtrack, posters, etc... other is in-game content that should be available in the standard game in the first place.

You make a special edition by adding to the overall package, not by reducing what you get from the standard edition.

It isn't paying the extra solely for the DLC. It's paying more period.

It implies a devotion.

I could care less about the DLC, I likely won't even play it until I see what the prothean looks like.
