What is "complete"?
...
Some people believe that the developers cut out parts of the game to sell later. If that was true(and I'm sure for some games it was), it would be a dirty way to make money.
Others believe as I do, that these extra items are just that. Extra. Adding to the total package.
I suppose that is the long and the short of the argument. I believe that DLC that comes along a month or more after release is extra and the stuff that is being advertised now, 2 months prior to release, is 'cut' content. I have a hard time believing that specifically items like armor, weapons and alternate outfits are not completed and can't be shipped with the release of the game. In a world without 'day one DLC' I think these items would still have been made anyway but included in the game for all buyers.
But you have a point, no one really has an idea what is 'cut' and what is 'extra'. Just like you, I paid my extra $20 for the added content but I still don't feel like I will get the complete game because I see the BestBuy/Gamestop/Origin/etc. exclusives as pieces of the original product made available to a portion of the consumer.
I think the art book is worth the extra money, I know others like the picture or the soundtrack but all in all I don't look at the DLC quest/character or in game items as being a bonus. I view that as original game content that others shouldn't have to pay for on top of buying whatever version of the game they picked up. This isn't content being made after the game is released it's before and to me that means it is part of the entire project now.
