The Vigil music always zoned me out and made me feel tired. There would be many times when I'd wake up with a dialogue choice to make talking to Vigil. Not exactly the correct response to the climax of the first game. Kind of killed the mood on occation

... please tell me you were kidding. That's the dumbest **** I've read all day.

I don't think ME1's menu music would fit ME3 IMO. The galaxy is at war, the Reapers are harvesting species and reshaping them into who knows what and most planets are being destroyed. ME1's menu music is great but it is too "happy" to fit with what is going on.

Its music from Arrival DLC. I guess "are" impending doom.

It's filler, through out the leaked demo they used a bunch of ME1, 2 and DLC music. I'm pretty sure there was only one piece of new music. Escape from earth. It's pretty briliant.

Relax. :P

It could be a lot worse like the dude who thought ME3 will suck because it didn't had "adrenaline-pounding" music like COD based on that one music teaser.

Uhmmm... I would prefer if they don't overuse Vigil. In fact I'd like to hear the beats of the "Mass Effect 1 Theme" Turunrunrun turunrunrunrun turunrun pah... *Epic Mass Effect title appears in front of a planet sunrise* tukututukututukututu.

Not in the main menu no. It has to be a new one.

Preferred the Suicide Mission as a main menu theme song. At least it felt like a military science fiction story, emphasis on the military aspect. As it is, I never was a big fan of Vigil, and only thought it worked with the reunions with the ME1 squadmates.

It was semi said in jest. However I'm not joking about the effect it had on me. It really did send me off on more than one occation. All music that just drones on with a very similar tone does. I never got why so many held that as the best example of ME1's music. To each their own. But I'd rather hear something different in ME3.

Most of the music from ME1 was pretty boring in my oppinion. There where a few i liked:
Mass Effect Theme
The Citadel
The presidium
Spectre introduction
Exit
Love theme
Vigil
Victory
From The Wreckage
The End (Reprise)
M4 Part 2

The rest was just not to my liking. Should Bioware take the old music and put it directly into ME3?

No!
Please no!

I have no problem with evolved versions that had their inspiration from the original, but the ME1 music is of rather 'low quality' compared to what is possible.

Dont get me wrong, the songs i mentioned above i like, but for ME3, i think something better is needed. Something more evolved in every sense.
The sample they gave in the composers topic was just much higher quality, as was the song in the leaked escape earth mission. That is what i wish for ME3.

I hope the Vigil theme makes at least one appearence in the game like it did in ME2 because it's a beautiful piece imo. However as the ME3 Main Menu music, I disagree considering ME3 has a different tone from ME1, a darker theme than Vigil would suit it better.

That was just music from Arrival, it's placeholder. (Hopefully)

Ok then. Sorry for jumping down your throat. I do agree on the 'best example of ME1 music' part, though I think it's a very fitting piece for the scene on Ilos.

No, that music will forever stand for Mass Effect and it's feel. Just like ME2 has it's own feel and just like ME3 will have it's own feel (I hope).

I would like that, but since Me3 has a different theme than ME1, I'm not so sure about that.

I always listen to the song in the main menu for as long as I see every character pop up both before and after my playthrough. Sometimes in between too. Epic stuff!

I really don't understand this attitude: "Hey Bioware, I don't want too much original content in your new game. Re-use this old material I can listen to anytime I want."

A science fiction theme that evokes mystery and exploration is not what I want on my space opera's war chapter main menu.

Agreed.

Definitely loved Lost Generation. Planet Earth, should have been in Dragon Age: Origin's end credits.
