Is it true that different classes have more/less health/shields than others?
If so, on a scale from 1 - 100 roughly how much health/shields do they have?

Soldier 100
Infiltrator
Engineer
Adept
Sentinel
Vanguard

Thanks

Mass Effect 2, Level 30 with no Health or Shield bonuses (no points in passive skills, no +Health or +Shield armor):

Soldier: 400 Health and 375 Shield
Engineer: 320 Health and 399 Shield
Adept: 320 Health and 399 Barrier
Infiltrator: 320 Health and 399 Shield
Vanguard: 320 Health and 399 Barrier
Sentinel: 300 Health and 399 Shield

I was wondering why Sentinels had the lowest health then I remembered about Tech Armour.

Functionally, the difference between 300 and 320 health is almost negligible. The Avenger (the standard assault rifle for most mercs) deals about 10 damage per shot, so that is 2 more shots to kill the Engineer/Adept/Vanguard/Infiltrator than the Sentinel.

Of course, that does not take into account damage protection upgrades, armor, and class passives.

Wow, but the sentinels have the ability to boost the defense, so that may be their advantage compare with the other class?

Sentinels have the only natural ability (Tech Armor) to boost their defense. All classes can take Fortification, Barrier, or Geth Shield Boost as a bonus power to boost their defense.

But Tech Armor has several advantages over the those bonus powers:
  • No maximum duration; it will remain activated until it is destroyed. The other shield-boost powers end when they are destroyed or their duration limit ends (60-180 seconds without upgrades or class passive talents).
  • When it is destroyed It explodes. The explosion can stun and/or knock down enemies within the explosion radius. The Assault Armor evolution improves the explosion radius and damage, and also gives you 50% shields.
  • When activated, Tech Armor resets the cooldown of squadmate's powers. This is a somewhat unintended feature of Tech Armor. It was originally a feature of Tech Armor during game development, but it was supposed to be cut from the final product, but the code was never removed.
  • The Sentinel's Guardian passive evolution reduces cooldowns by 30%. With the Tech Cooldown upgrade, it can reduce the cooldown of Tech Armor by 50% to 6 seconds, the quickest any class can use a shield boost power.

Just to add, TA's shield bonus is about 299, plus about 199 after discharged. That's about a 498-499 total bonus to shields, which amounts to 698 shields at full, plus 199 after disharge...

BADASSssssss.... Image IPB

PA's bonus is simply an additional 399 shield for a total of 798.
