There's already Zaeed as the british guy.  It would be ridiculous to have two british team members.  I mean, there are so many other nationalities, cultures, languages on Earth, not to mention a whole freakin' galaxy full of potential team mates.  Giving us two british teammates would be really ridiculous.  Why not someone from a new species?  Why not something else, anything else?

I would be severely disappointed if that guy is indeed the DLC character.

But Zaeed is the most Badass out of all of them even more badass than Garrus and by having another british badass will make the Reapers quake with fear

I liked Nigel since the beginning of the trailer when we hear his voice over, and when they said they were giving a "guiding" character of ME3 to help new players I thought it would be him. Instead we got Vega. It would be cool if we got him, but the alien lovers would b*tch that there are too many human's on the squad, and Bioware's made it evident who they pander to.

Well, Bioware is a North American company. I wouldn't expect more than one American guy in a Japanese game, for instance. And isn't Miranda British?

And Zaeed isn't British, going by his name. He sounds middle-eastern, or African.

Aren't humans in the Mass Effect universe more unified? I don't think there is much focus on which country people are from, or which accent/skin tone they have.

Names don't mean much when the "hispanic" girl has an average mid-western american name, the  guy from singapore has an eurasian name, and your Shepard can have any name and appearance no matter how non-sensical it may seem.

Personally I thought Zaeed was supposed to be Australian. I've known quite a few South Africans and New Zealanders and his accent wasn't anywhere near that.

His accent is off but I've met many people (including me) who have foreign names but are the 2nd/3rd generation born and bred in england.

Zaeed sounds like he comes from some post-colonial country in the southern hemisphere, and his name is Arabic
