Honestly what you should do is this:

1. Pre-order the game at Gamestop and the Origin store (they sell 360 copies too).

2. You'll have your codes e-mailed to you/on your receipt. Input them.

3. Open the plasting wrapping for only one of the games.

4. Return one of them to Gamestop.

You know what? Screw it. I give up. I'm happy enough with my Collector's Edition. I just don't care anymore. EA, Bioware.... YOU WIN.

Well, I did prove that it is possible to get all of the extras for the price of one game... eventually. :wizard:

That's sneaky, but clever...unless the codes are in the packaging itself. :alien:

Well, I believe Gamestop said their codes are going to be on the receipt. Got the same line from my local store. So in case of the Origin one being in the packaging you just don't open up the Gamestop one

Gamestop pre-order codes usually are on the receipts.  "Limited Editions" and their equivalents usually have their items pre-packaged in there, like the weapons pack in BF3.  It all depends on the game and how much additional cost they want to put towards millions of pieces of paper, design, and ink.

Glad I preordered the CE at Gamestop. Two assault rifles plus an armor set? Very nice.

Is there a deadline for the CE preorder? I have to go to the hospital for surgery and will be MIA for a week.

So on a final note, preorder from game stop and I get the entire N7 weapons pack, + the rifle and armour?

Bottom line question then is:

a) If I want all the pre-order dlc, should I pre-order both from Origin store and GameStop? ... or jost Origin store?

B) Is the DLC swapable between platforms (i.e. PS3, PC and Xbox 360) or is it console platform specific?

Based on ME2, DLC spreads between PC and Xbox, however in DA2 my promotions spanned all 3 platforms. Could go either way.

As for how to get all, it would require both yes, if you just want the most bang for your buck, you'd be looking at Gamestop, which has 3 items to Origin's 2.

How did DA2 spread on 3 platforms work? Like how was the DLC provided to you in-game?

It was entitlements I guess, they were likely hidden on the disc, in patches and in the DLCs that I doiwnloaded and were unlocked by checking with the EA servers to see what I had available to me.

However it worked I have everything but Ser Issac's Armor(which was linked to the download for the Dead Space 2 online pass and the Boots of the Frozen Wastes, which are only on the platforms for which you have the game registered. I'd assume they're putting the system in place if it doesn't exist already.

"@didymos1120 Yes weapon mods will work on all the DLC weapons, and btw the guns are awesome!!"

N7 Sniper, Pistel, SMG, and i think a shotgun are CE only you do not get them when preordering anywhere N7 Armor and N7 AR come with the gamestop pre order along with another AR.

Edit; in my area CE is already sold out so you better do it before you go into hospital or have someone do it for you

If ME3 doesn't appear on Steam for launch or retail version still requires Origin then i'm sorry but i'll have to go 'dark side.' Please don't force me into that option EA/Bioware. I've bought every single DLC for ME2 and ME1. I'd like to carry on supporting you.

Don't care about the weapons & armor as long as all missions & characters will be available to everyone. We're saving the galaxy, don't care what I look like. :) Only two more months... YES.

That is exactly what you woud have to do. And the DLC I don;t think is swappable between platforms, as the XBox code redemption system is different than hat of PS3 and the PC does it through EA I think.

For the full DLC, get the game for the same platform on both Origin and Gamestop, leaving you with all the pre-order DLC and an extra copy to keep wrapped for fun or to give to a friend.

For ME2 codes gave you the items on both 360 and PC. I expect ME3 will be the same.

So many guns and stuff, the Normandy really needs a firing range in the cargo hold to explore all these possibilities.

ME2 was flawed in which after you beat all the missions and assignments in the game, there was no other way to draw your gun and shoot at stuff, not even Pinnacle Station was available.
ME3 needs some way to just shoot things while not on a mission, and a way after everything has been done to still be able to enjoy some combat.

GamescamStop. In fact, even this, making your fans have to buy
multiple copies of the game to get everything, I could turn a blind eye

There are other games
from other companies that still at least act like they care about their

something from the above could be changed to make it seem like you
aren't trying to screw us on one of the last good game series, ME3 would
easily be a buy for me, but at this stage, nothing is going to change.
I'm not going to reward you with my money when other companies still

It refused to work in my 360. I brought it into my store and they refunded my money--including, and this shocked me--the shipping costs. then they let me exchange it for a New copy. Normally you can only exchange Used for Used. (at least i think thats the case) In all I walked out of the store having dropped an additional $2. So thats my story.
