This is the last time I bother with preorder exclusives. THE LAST TIME. Because honestly, it's getting ridiculous now. US exclusives, retailer exclusives, console exclusives...I hate having to assemble my game in a million parts just so I can get all the equipment.

By the way, thank you to whoever posted the link confirming that GAME has the same exclusives as GameStop. At least not everyone outside of the States is screwed over by the system.

Well it's true that LotSB was good. I'd even call it great. I'd even go so far as to say it was phenomenal. However, it isn't as crucial to the story as Arrival was; the events of Arrival set up the entire story of Mass Effect 3. The events of Lair of the Shadow Broker do form part of Liara's story for Mass Effect 3 but it could be argued that she could have eventually gathered the intel and became the shadow broker without Shepard's intervention/assistance. So I go back to my original assertion that Arrival forms the entirety of the story-crucial Mass Effect 2 Downloadable Content.

On topic....I always preorder my games from GameStop anyway so news that they get "the most" extra stuff was welcome at least for me

It depends on your country. Gamestop and their counterparts (GAME, a UK version of Gamestop, comes to mind. I know they have the CE, something the localized GameStop UK Site (gamestop.co.uk) didn't.) GameStop has a presence in many countries so I am confident you can find one that gets the Wargear pack.

Not sure why people find this so difficult:

The stuff that's explicitly said to be part of the CE?  You get that stuff with the CE.  The stuff that's explicitly said to be for pre-ordering from a retailer?  You get that stuff if you pre-order from that retailer.

You order it for the PS3 or 360 from the Origin store.  You can do that.

You order it for the PS3 or 360 from the Origin store.  You can do that.

thx. If I understood you correctly, I was right. And even non-CE preorders get all these items.

One last question: why did Chris mention the CE specificaly here:

No, if you have already pre-ordered your pre-order will rollover and you will be automatically granted the items.

Well I can see most Solider playthroughs using this armor and maybe Sentinal but that might be stretching it. Overall its better good to use until you find better armor in game because it looks good from what I see in the preview video. Considering most DLC armors become obselate vs the stuff you find in game, cant wait to see the new armor items they added for ME3.

I would have liked the armor too, but I made my pre-order at Origin around a month ago after waiting a long time for this information. I understand Chris mentioned (or implied) that they were getting the retailers on board for pre-order promo after ME3 won that VGN award. So this covers the bottom line in a capitalist economy, as the retailers are paying for the promo content to drive sales. All well and good as long as it goes into making a better game exprience, and not covering up it's flaws (*cough* Dragon Age II).

Now i could cancel my order from Origins and reorder from Gamestop. Really I would think they didn't think this one through. However, they get the money anyways and you need Origins to play, so works out for them either way.

My only unreasonable demand would be that they did not accept pre-orders until this was all worked out so the consumer would be informed and be able to make a single purchase at the location that had the content they prefered.

Unfortunately, the five-year olds on the internet would whine about that too.

As long as the content is not just renamed in-game content that the players get to use early that is fine. (Yes, I am refering to DA II again....)

I dont think that many people care about the armor, it's the fact that you get almost everything by going with one retailer while everyone else gets no where near the amount of content and it might not be available to some people.

Um, I don't really consider 1 item to be "nowhere near" 3 items. Or if you order from Origin, 2 items to be "nowhere near" 3 items.

Im soooo happy that game are getting thes pre-order stuff in the UK but could someone confirm for me if I have already pre ordered the game from them (did so 2 weeks ago) will i automatically get the n7 gun and armour, thanks?

Yes as Chris stated before (but it  was a while back so I'll say it here...) your pre-order will automatically include the bonus items

At Origin Store, how does the pre-order item arrive? As a code too or automatically tied to your origin account?

Also there is nothing in the store to suggest there is a pre-order bonus.

This is for Xbox 360.

anyone else notice the pure turian husk in the preorder bonus trailer? they looked like Saren. I hope they make it into the final game
