Exactly. Bioware needs shops to stock their game, and sometimes that means playing ball with them with regards to DLC - the stores will want something exclusive to give them an edge over the other stores. An extra gun is pretty much the bare minimum Bioware can get away with - one less gun won't impact your enjoyment of ME3, and the shops get seomthing, however small, that is exclusive and can be used for their advertising.didymos1120 wrote...
Look, I'm not fan of retailer exclusives either, but why does everyone around here act like "listens to fans" means the same as "does everything fans ask for"? Like it or not, retailers matter, and sometimes, they're gonna listen to them and do what they want.

I thought I saw Shepard shoot down a Reaper with that rifle towards the end of the video. Or at least I think it was a Reaper.Someone With Mass wrote...

The video feels a little off. The animations are slowed down too much.
One shot lands in the stomach, another hits the head and the last hits his arm.
"Accurate burst fire" my ass.

Buy the CE from Gamestop and you get ALL the content.
You don't need multiple copies.
And frankly, anyone willing to buy multiple copies of the same game for an extra gun has too much disposable income.
The shotgun that comes with Origin is exclusive to, what else, Orgin.
It's hysteriaclly ironic that if you pre-order the Collector's Edition, you won't get all the items that you can collect. It shouldn't matter which store you do it from.

Or does Origin have an extra shotgun?

Pre-order bonuses only come with the digital deluxe on Origin (you cannot order physical copies from Origin here) or by pre-ordering from something that is nonexistent in the Netherlands (thus coming to the conclusion that you need.. wait for it... CREDIT CARDS! Which not everyone has in the Netherlands).
Great.
I hate pre-order bonuses. Mostly because I cannot get any of them (except for the Origin one, but 1) I HATE Origin and 2) I want my stuff physical).
They should at least release the pre-order bonus content as DLC later on. Or make the GameStop pre-order bonus available to bol.com in the Netherlands. Seems only fair.

Screw Thanix, M55s for everyone! Problem solved.
And yeah, the videos are awfully inaccurate to actually depict the weapons' characteristics, but alas, they look "awesome" and "cool", so I guess the initial design goal was achieved.

This almost reminds me of the people who got Arkham City CE. Robin or Nightwing and those extra map packs didnt come with the CE. I do think people who get the CE should get EVERYTHING

Really? You'd get the Origin-exclusive weapon if you buy the CE from Gamestop? Are you absolutely certain about that?
As for the disposable income: that's my entire point. People don't have the money to buy multiple copies of the same game just to get all of the content that should be available to all paying customers. At the very least be fair and make all of the stores offer the exact same DLC item as a promotion so no one has to choose where to buy from. Geez.

Frankly I'm not that fussed. Its just a gun. The main DLC I'm interested in is the character, and I've pre-ordered the CE already. It'd be nice if I can get some sort of pre-order bonus though - I'm having to pay twice the price to get the CE, and depsite it having some good stuff the extra content isn't worth the price of an entire game.
There have been far worse examples than this. I think someone just mentioned the fact the Arkham City CE didn't include some pretty hefty DLC that was released like two months later.

And that would defeat the point of exclusive DLC. The stores want customers to buy from their store. They can't really change the price, so the most sensible thing is to offer exclusive items. An extra gun is like the minimum Bioware could give them - three or four extra guns won't affect your enjoyment of ME3, but the stores get their exclusive promotion.
Unless you wanted games to only be distributed through things like Origin then Biwoare has to play ball with the high-street stores.

Burn me on comments if you want but I'd gladly prefer everything on Origin than Gamestop or any other physical retailers you guy out there have, since I can EASILY BUY ON ORIGIN. I can pay on my country's currency, and it's just an easy buy, download, install, play. **** me in the ass.

They are a business so it is their perogative to do this or not. I still maintain that it's a pretty lousy thing to do to your loyal customers.

The loyal customers are getting the conclusion to a story that they have invested dozens, if not hundreds of hours in. That is how Bioware is rewarding us. They don't owe us a couple of extra guns just because we've bought their games. It'd be nice if they did, but they don't owe us anything. Saying that its lousy of them not to give you free stuff seems rather ungrateful.TS2Aggie wrote...

I'm sorry, but when I'm pre-ordering the Collector's Edition, it's not that much of a stretch to expect to get all the things you can collect. If anything, that's why I'm buying and paying extra for it in the first place. To not get involved in the store-exclusive bulls**t.

With the most recent single-player Bioware game (DA2) the Gamestop preorder bonus works in all countries where there is a Gamestop shop I believe (I live in Italy). I hope Bioware follows that route instead of the ME2 route (though the Gamestop bonus workes for some other countries, though not all).
