I recently picked up MotA and Legacy, and now I'm eyeing The Exiled Prince and the two item packs. However, I really like Anders and can't see myself killing him. (Well, maybe once just to have done it.)

So, is the Exiled Prince worthwhile to someone who's probably going to lose Sebastian on just about every playthrough? Are his quests and interactions with Hawke and the other characters meaty enough to make up for it? Does it integrate with the main story well? I'm not really asking for spoilers, though those are fine, just a general idea if this is worth picking up.

Well you get a neat shield: Mage friend, a staff: allures crook, a nifty sword don't remember the name and a cool knife that I should remember but I don't. Is it the low blade or something with nature damge. You get to meet Leliana in one of his story things. I personally like having Sebastian even though I don't use him. I got him free though with the pre-order.

Sebastian's DLC adds a good bit to Elthina as well, to add on to what cJohnOne said. It's an extra companion which is always good for replaying. He adds a good religious aspect to the main story as well, I would say buy it.

Thank you both. I do like Elthina, so it might be worth it just for the added content with her.

I actually used him very rarely. I find Varric much more effective as rogue and archer.
And from my subjective perspective... I just don´t like his character. He wants to fight against evil and to protect innocents(which is good), but he is also heavy Chantry oriented, which repels me enough. He has about three or four quests and even for party banters I don´t feel he adds up anything that much interesting. His final remark about "being back and finding my PRECIOUS Anders to teach him justice" pretty much sealed his fate for me. I was just looking for "kill him" button, but there was none Image IPB
In the end, he spent most of his time boxed in Chantry....so not worthy for me.
But, again, that´s just my opinion.

he does add a good deal of content for a DLC. In that respect he is like Shale - just a different personality. He will interact with all the other npcs and react to quests and things you do, etc. He is also included in future DLCs as well, so I think it's a good buy. Then again, I got him for free with my pre order ;)

Gee, the religious nutjob wants to kill the terrorist that killed his kin and destroyed the house of faith, who could have guessed. Image IPB

He also has Andraste's face as a belt buckle. Anders said it best, the Maker probably wouldn't like it if he saw Sebastian putting his bride's face there every morning.

It doesn't matter if you don't like to kill Anders, you just loose him for the Last Straw Quest, you can still use him in the DLC (if you play them after finishing the game) since it's actually just before the Last Straw, timeline wise. I dunno if it's worth the price for you, you get a new character for Act 2 and 3 + DLC, a new dungeon (well, it's a recycled one, but you won't notice it, it has different skins & doodadds), and some cool items. Besides new banter & dialogue.

I really enjoyed the Sebastian quests, (I always kill Anders so adding him didn't matter). I got him as part of the SE so it wasn't like I had to do anything else. His character is fully integrated to the game, having banters with other characters.

The downside is, his dialogue banters are all heavy "prince of starkhaven" or "Maker this maker that" which tends to mean he sits in the chantry alot except when I need him. His act 2 quest is my second favorite in the game (Aveline's attempts to woo Donnic is my favorite).
My favorite scene: (note the expression on Merrill and Hawke's sh*t eating grin!)

It isn't that I dislike him per se.  He's good dps and he's easy on the eyes (I just personally prefer Varric's personality).  Mostly I found him kind of 'meh'.
Except here.  This scene is pure comedy gold!

I don't care for Sebastian's banter, but that is because of my own personal spiritual choices and upbringing and, is not a discussion for this board. Suffice to say if you see the Maker as similar to the Christian God and, that is not your thing, then Sebastian's banter will likely irritate you.

a lot of people don't like him because they think "he is too preachy" but to be honest, he isn't nearly as pushy with his beliefs compared to Fenris or Anders. He isn't afraid to talk about his religion - that's all. it's not really "shoved down your throat" as other people would have you believe. there are some people without faith who hate any discussion at all about religion and that's a shame because they would miss out on an otherwise great character.
