I liked the screenshots, especially the final one at the bottom. If that is Rannoch, I'll be impressed. I'm just disappointed of what's in the picture...a Cerberus Solider. Really?

The Illusive Man must of spent years stockpiling up a damned army because it seems Cerberus can strike anywhere. We already saw that they intrude upon the Salarian homeworld and attack an STG base. It seems Cerberus can burst in anywhere, including Rannoch. I thought that because it was nestled deep inside Geth territory, nobody could ever reach it? If only the most highly advanced stealth recon probes can return from the very edge of the Perseus Veil, then how the hell did Cerberus get ON Rannoch?

Seems like a lazy attempt by Bioware to simply use the same canon fodder enemies everywhere.

Cerberus rushes in Rannoch for a reason. And yes they're pretty much terrorist throughout ME3

Yep, by the rate that those Cerberus troops are coming at you, makes me wonder if Cerberus actually has a larger army than the Alliance itself. An army large enough to invade almost every last damned planet in the galaxy... <_<

Brutes are Elcor husks.

Chris Priestly confirmed it.

The leaked script says Brutes are Turian/Krogan hybrids...let's wait and see.

I assume the planet most featured in the trailer is Thessia, right?

No think Rannoch, rememeber legion said the planet was arid. Thessia home world of the Asari might have more oceans sense their supposed to kinda aquatic. Thats just what the concept artist said.

.
The other one. Where a huge battle seems to be taking place. The skyscrapers look much like the one in Thessia's picture in the N7ops section of the ME3 site.
.
edit: the picture just above my post.

Yeah thats Thessia.

I wonder if the Reapers will have troops for long-range combat, like Snipers.

-Husks cover close range.
-The Marauders (Turian Husks) are mid-range.
-Same for the Cannibal.
-Banshee covers biotics.
-Brute covers the heavy artillery and tank class.
-Harvesters cover troop transport and aerial combat.
-Ravager (Rachni Husk) covers your crawl-on-the-wall tentacle monster role.

For the most part we haven't seen all of Cerberus better yet what do we know what they have been doing inbetween ME2 and 3? Haven't read Invasion, waiting for the book.

They're not invading planets, they're attacking specific locations with elite commandos.

This ^, Yes Cerberus is pretty much engaging in HIT n RUN operations throughout Mass Effect 3. Omega seems to be the only place they are fully trying to invade and take over.

Cerberus doesnt need to invade any of the home planets. Thats the Reapers jobs

So far the Reaper forces look like this:
  • Human Husk: Primitive cannon fodder used to overwhelm targets with sheer numbers in close quarter combat.
  • Banshee: Asari repurposed by the Reapers, their raw, Reaper-amplified biotics will be used to devastate the most steadfast opposition.
  • Cannibal: The Batarians being the first to fall now have the unpleasnat honor of being the initial shock troops to the Reaper invasion of Earth and Council Space.  Their ability to draw on the latent energy of fallen Reaper forces allow them to continue to fight beyond normal means.
  • Brute: Using the Collector's technique of melding multiple repurposed bodies to create more advanced and terrifying constructs, the Reapers have fused the peaceful Elcor with the militaristic Turians to create a ferocious battering ram to break through heavy defenses and draw fire.  Their large claws can grasp and crush organics easily, and are capable of great bursts of speed to surprise opponants.
  • Marauder: After life long training in the military, the Turians now serve as the shock troops of the Reaper invasion.  Protected with mass effect fields and combat armor, each unit can dish out and receive a significant amount of damage.  To improve performance, the Reapers have allowed basic tactical knowledge to be retained.
  • Harvester: The scouting and aerial component of the Reaper's advance, Harvesters can harass atmospheric craft and infantry alike to minimize risk to grounded Reapers and thralls.
Naturally, some of this is speculation, but judging from past gameplay and now the promotional video on Rannoch, they are fairly accurate assumptions.

Edit: BackLash ninja'd my post.

Ok now Im curious. If Rannoch is arid, that mostly likely says something about what the Qurians look like and their biology. For example we're mostly a temperate tropical species.

I suppose the Marauders should be able to use Snipers and all types of weapons, though I doubt Bioware will put in the time and effort to make them do so.

I wonder what the nighttime level is... You can even see a dead Destroyer Reaper in the backround at one point.

The level's architecture looks pretty earth-like, actually. London?
