You want in party more warriors, rogues or mages?
Here is the pool.

And race.
social.bioware.com/210639/polls/27600/
I want mages and rogues because there is no need in warriors. One or two is good enough. From mages the game needs at least two- healer and fireballer, because in mage class has so much intresting way to develop. In rogue need one archer and dagger, both need to be a lockpikers.

I'd like to see quinari companions especially woman. And less elves is better, I really lafting at Fenris with his two handed sword. Elven warriors looks so funny.

I'd like more than one dual wielding rogue, particulary if the only one is possibly going to leave and never come back and your PC is not a rogue. Alternatively bring back dual wielding as a possibility for warriors. I was left with a load of great daggers in Act 3 that no one could use after Isabella ran off.

Would like more than one mage capable of doing spirit healing type magic if the only one who can is going to do some terrible act or betrayal which may mean you have to kill them and your PC is not a mage.

Would like a bigger choice of specialisation in all classes but particularly mage and warrior.
Have moral objectins to blood magic? Then no choice for your PC other than Force Mage/Spirit Healer.
Either anti-Templar or anti-Reaver mentality, then again stuck for choice.

Either bring back arcane warrior or allow you to equip companions with armor. Nothing more frustrating than have blood dragon armor at the beginning of the game and never being able to equip it unless playing a warrior and then constantly finding pieces of armour that you are not able to use but are limited to PC only. Every game I ended up very rich from selling gear with nothing worthwhile to spend it on.

An even balance is good. Ideally either with more options in how to develop them or more characters available.

And don't make Creation so important if you're not going to give it to everyone.

This. Especially the pert about a bigger choice of specialization. I hated the whole Anders being the only spirit healer and the fact that they had certain specializations other characters of the same class couldnt use irked me. One of my least favorite things about DA2.

Absolutely agree on the Anders thing. After my first playthrough I didn't keep him in my party again unless I wanted a sibling to be a GW, or to purposefully do all the things that would ****** his whiny @#$ off (aka my "@$%$ you, Anders" playthrough) .

While I did like that companions had abilities or passives that no one else did, I would have liked to be able to choose 1 other specialization for them as well.

Assuming a similar leveling system for 3 (which I actually think is unlikely), a good work around might be to have a personal tree for each character (including the PC) that is available from the start, class trees, and specialization trees. Abilities in the personal trees could still be gated to the 7th/14th level as necessary.

To re-iterate: Please don't make a necessary role (spirit healer) restricted to a single NPC. Especially one who's likely to be hated on after the first playthrough.

I could always use more mages in the party since that's the class I use least for the protagonist.

I'm hoping for Saarebas, personally.

Well, I don't think the companions are going to have their weapons as locked again (So any rogue can dual wield or use a bow if they like).

I honestly think they should just use a six character party with two of each class. That solves the issue, as long as class weapons and specializations are not bound to the characters.

I'm hoping for a Tal Vashoth, a dwarven Kal Sharok Noble, and perhaps Cassandra for starters. I hope I get to play a Kossith character, but I doubt it.

I would like to have 3 NPC mages in the party and arcane warrior spec awailable to the PC, so I can finaly have my all mage party.

Also, an ash warrior NPC whose personal tree would be all about doing combo moves with his mabari would be cool.

Spirit healer isn't at all necessary.

Being without the creation tree, which is limited to one NPC for much of the game, does make your life more difficult, but it's certainly very possible to do without it.

For the most part, I liked the distribution of the classes in DA2.
Warrior - Fenris, Carver, Aveline
Rogue - Isabela, Varric, Sebastian
Mage - Bethany, Anders, Merrill
And of course Hawke rounds out the classes as either a 3rd warrior or mage for 2/3 of the game, or a constant 4th rogue, but only the 2nd melee rogue.

I actually thought the sibling death was an interesting way to balance out the class numbers, since you will then have three of everything, depending on Hawke's chosen class.

I disliked the way mages were used in general in DA2, as far as party makeup was concerned. If Hawke was not a mage, it's entirely possible that you could end up screwing yourself over completely in terms of buffs and healing if Bethany died in the Deep Roads and you chose to kill Anders. IMO that is completely unfair, as that issue doesn't exist with any other class. Even if Bethany lived and you hated Anders, or even wanted to leave him behind for RP reasons, you would have been forced to use him for most of the game because you had no other choice.
