Garrus and Tali are possible deaths in ME2, thus ending their playability in ME3, so they are in essence ME2 squaddies. Ashley, Kaidan, Wrex and Liara are in ME2 but can not die no matter what choices you make, so they stay as ME1 squadmates.

Yes, but this thread's largely been complaining about the lack of ME2-exclusive characters in ME3, and treating Garrus and Tali as if they didn't count as ME2 characters. So you can't just flip that the other way now.

I love Garrus. Tali I really don't get the appeal of? Persoanly I'd have put Garrus or Mordin at number 1. Just my opinion though.

I remember that 1 post Ticktank posted, about "Dextromancers" pulling really stupid faux-justifications for BioWare's ignoring the ME2 exclusive cast. I feel you're doing that at this point.

The point is that people have been complaining about a lack of characters exclusive to ME2. They've been saying stuff like "The ME2 squad has been shoved aside in favour of the ME1 cast" and "why aren't any ME2 characters going to be on the squad". There has been a tendency lately to view Garrus and Tali as being part of the "ME1 group" and not part of the "ME2 group".

It isn't flaming if you simply say that "squadmate x isn't in my top 10". It's flaming if you say "lol, squadmate x sucks". Of course fanboys/girls of that squadmate (all squadmates have fanboys) will react, but it's because they can't do a serious conversation.
Anyway, it's a pretty good list. I like to see Wrex that high in the list. Though I'd choose him over any other squadmates everytime.

my god no one is getting shafted.  the same thing pretty much happened to the ME1 squad in ME2.

I can agree with that list. Could change the order a littlebit though. Mordin is way better than #10 and Kasumi is better that #9(For me atleast).

You're forgetting the fact that the ME1 squad gets two games where they're permanent and those introduced in ME2 get only that game to be permanent. Then of course there are some squadmates that have been made permanent throughout all three games with no option of not using them.

granted not every ME2 character will be a squad mate (which yeah in a way is a little lame).  it's not like anyones being done some HUGE disservice.  Every character will have their role in some way with ME3...that role might kind of suck....but I'm more of a ME1 kinda guy anyways... so it's kind of not my problem..lmao

let bioware do their thing, i trust them to make a smaller sqaud than we had in ME2 but alot more dialogue. Most of the ME2 characters will probably have cameos if you didnt kill them. But it does matter cos Shep is gonna kick metallic butt

I've heard from people who have read the leak that most of the characters are getting great character development, regardless of being on the squad or not, so no one is really getting shafted (that I've heard of). Would I prefer certain squadmates to be permanent in the third, yes, but as long as they get the development their character story deserves, then I'm a happy. To me, their personal development is more important than trying to figure out some way to fit them into the squad without messing up the story.
