Ah. Seemed just like regular Champion Warriors to me. But the thought that they were, makes me a happy Mage!

I'm sorry but how do some generic NPCs called GUARDS not Chevalier's count? Even if there were some random trash mob it wouldn't count. Like how the PC should be the only Arcane Warrior in existence but there are a few irrelevant NPCs sprinkled around labeled as Arcane Warriors. Doesn't count. I want to kill a  Chevalier in Chevalier armor with a speaking role. Even if it is just to say HRGHHHUK as he dies.

I think they are basing it on the fact that you can get chevalier armour of their corpses.  They could be chevaliers, I don't really know.

Out of curiousity I just booted up a save I had right before entering Marjolaine's house. No idea why you think they are Chevaliers. Marjolaine says they are Qunari Mercenaries. Completely expendable. I seriously doubt any Chevaliers are pulling guard duty.



At best they are wearing Chevalier armor. Not nearly good enough. Now that this bit of misinformation is cleared up let's get back on topic. I want to kill a REAL Chevalier!

Idk about your play-throughs, but on both of mine I got to loot Chevalier armor from them, and they were in chevalier model armor (at least it was the same that I looted and bought outside of Orzammar)

Please see above. That is a terrible assumption to make! Anyone can wear that armor. My Arcane Warrior can wear that armor. Does NOT make me a Chevalier. What a despicable thought. They were Qunari mercenaries and they died with honor but with none of the satisfaction killing a Chevalier would bring me.

To make matters worse, they probably got their armour by killing chevaliers. I mean, she's an assassin... and you just avenged some chevaliers there.

You are most likely correct, but barring DLC, expansions or new titles, I think they are the closest you can get.

From what little I've learned about Orlean(sp) society (codex and interraction with Lileanna) it would not have suprised me to find out real Chevaliers were in the employ of a bard of Marj's stature and even if they were there in an "off-duty" sort of way, it could have been conceivable that they were.

I will pay attention to them better next play-through as of now, the door to the Assassin's flat is closed to me.

Considering the stature a Chevalier is said to enjoy in Orlais I have no idea why you think one would leave to bodyguard a bard no matter how successful a bard she may be. Chevalier are high nobility I believe. Or treated as if they were.

Talk to the girl in the merchant district hanging out by the merchant tent in the center. Find out why she left Orlais...

Yeah I just replayed that. Make sure to tell her that you killed her guards. She'll retort by saying they are Qunari Mercenaries and utterly expendable to her.

Then you can slay as many Chevaliers as you like - or even be one :-)

It is very likely either a sequel or expansion will play out in Orlais judging by the overflow of information they are giving you in this game. Sadly, I didn't like the sound of Orlais at all. Not a French-fan.
