Heres hoping they make one on the continuing saga of Refund guy. A tragic tale of shattered hopes and sheer determination. Hell, lets make it a whole series! Image IPB

Seriously though, sounds like a great idea and I'm definately looking forward to it.

I hope the second comic in Homeworlds will be about Garrus.

But yeah, this series actually sounds really neat. We'll see how it goes. Just fix the ****ty art, okay?

How will they handle Ashley/Kaidan? Or any potentially dead character, I suppose.

I think it looks interesting. I'm sceptic, but still interested.

I'm thinking that it will more than likely be a prequel series to avoid conflicts such as Ashley/Kaidan, Wrex or the entire crew of ME2.

Liara and Vega are the only two who can't die.

*Sighs* After Mass Effect: Evolution, I really don't want to see any more ME comics. They butcher continuity and honestly aren't that good.

It sucks because we're basically having these crappy comics forced on us as canon. I personally do not consider ME: Evolution canon, but officially it is. If these comics are not being well received, then maybe Bioware should rethink its approach.

Cue horde complaining how you don't understand how it's messing up their characters in the game and trashing their game lore.

The comics though do leave a lot to be desired in both artistic and writing quality.

Now, imagine if Mass Effect comics were worked on by the same people working on Stephen King's The Stand.  Anyone who complained would be insane.  I'm not saying that BioWare doesn't take the adaptations to their game seriously, but there are obviously some issues on knowing and negotiating talent in other industries.

That's my problem.  The comics are such low quality and Bioware is still following the same formula.  I agree with you on The Stand.  I'd rather have fewer ME comics that are better quality than be spammed by these crappy ones.  Why won't Bioware fix their approach?

You shouldn't assume that how you've received them is how they've been received in general.

It's a common problem when adapting anything to a new medium.  The best game adaptation of a film is probably King Kong, while of comics it's the Batman: Arkham W/E series.  Eric Nylund remains to be the only one to bring quality writing in adapting a game franchise, specifically the Halo series.  The list can go on and on.  But these few shining (and not so shining but still quality) examples are surrounded by a mess of gutted hopes and dreams.

The problem is being able to find, and afford, the best in those fields, all the while hoping that they attempt to the material true to the source.  While I can't really say that those who've worked on adaptations for ME are not talented people, I can say that have a horrible knack of not editing and/or referring to the source material when they make aesthetic or informative choices.

A big part of the problem is the talent within Dark Horse, which isn't quite up to where it used to be several years ago.  They are a great publisher and easy to work with, but the in-house talent leaves much to be desired when compared to a company such as Image.

Because the series is ME3 related, I'd imagine. If you really want to know, how 'bout you PM a mod instead of asking us?
