What an idiotic thread. It is just marketing, not sexism, people need to learn to recognise the difference.
Don't you dare bring reason into this thread, it is ignored!

I don't think the trailer is sexist. That said, though they may take a while, sometimes things change.

I always hate that excuse, it frustrates me to no end. I remember back in the day where how well you worked made a hell of a bigger difference then what skin color you are. This new society is quite wrong in that regard. Who to blame for the change, I cannot say. It is taking a simple concept (working well = getting hired) and adding a bunch of hoops and clauses to it.

Except that was not the case. There was great deal people who did work hard and did deserve accolade but could not achieved due the prevailing prejudice of the society at large. Those types of rules were put into place to combat that sort of prejudice. There is a great deal of complexity to the issue that itsn't really appropriate conversation for this thread. In a perfect world, that is the way that these things should work, but the world is imperfect though the system of quotas and such is somewhat problematic. Nostalgia is great, but can also corrupt the reality of memory
I don't really want to get into this debate because believe it or not, I don't really like to argue but I would just like to quote Jay Smooth from this video (best part of the talk starts around 4:23) as a means to consider what the OP is talking about (I should mention that in the video his is talking about race but what he says could easily apply to sexism or any other ism). Okay, actually it's more of paraphrase. He says "we deal with racism and prejudice in this good person bad person binary." This is absolutely true and absolutely harmful. The good/evil dichotomy has not really done the world any favors in regards to discussing the issue of modern social problems. Is Bioware as an entity sexis or racist? No, I don't think so.
But– I think the institution in which many things function allows for racist and sexist practices to be widely continued mainly because these issues are not only systemic and but also seemingly benign. Sexism and racism and homophobia don't often fall into an all or nothing gamble. There are nuances and subtleties that while seeming harmless can easily contribute to propagating a system that depicts one ideal as the ideal. I don't know if that makes sense or not, but that's my opinion on the matter.
