Okay  I have one of many answers  to that question  - not going to touch on it  just  yet

Once the reason why I think peope  and gamers a mainly so defesive one this because the medium is under attack wrongfully or rightfullly it is always under attack.   Racist and Sexist  calling somebody those  terms carries some pretty  negative image that comes to mind. KK K, Slavery, Female circumsiziton(SP),etc,etc. So the knee jerk   reaction from on anywho  for the better part of there life has lived a good life and did their best not to be preducial person  is  auto-defensive.  

In general  artist or those who create make characters that are in way reflective of themselves - not a really problem... Now couple this with those who dominate the main leading creative and developing positions making a games today( Save a few  Jade Raymond  comes to mind)   and  there you  have it. Now  does this mean that there is so overtly racism comspiracy  to keep minorities out the spot in videos game... No - Hell No   F**K No.  

Solution: one as getting more minorities into game development , you  make the creative so more diverse  the product side should start to reflect this as well.

At the end of the day, whe customisable characters are cocnerned, marketting is invariably going to choose a setting that reflects the majority of their market demographic. Which is, at present, brown hairred white males, it's no more racist or sexist than the democratic process (Nobody has ever seriously spoken out against the democratic process for representing the majority vote)

First off, I don't really care who stars in the trailer. Second, I think ya'll should be grateful you even get the option to play as a female. Stop complaining about the tiny things that don't really matter, because once you get the game you can play as whoever you want. Black or white, female or male

Box art and CGI trailers don't really concern me, but I think it is important that we get a chance to see ingame capture of FemShep before the game comes out, because I'd really like to see if the animations have been improved.

Being a female gamer/nerd sucks in general, so I take what I can get, but Bioware is one of the better companies about listening to fans, so I think asking for more representation in marketing isn't unreasonable.

In my opinion, they always use a white male protagonist because it's safer. White males tend to be the least easily offended demographic because they are the privileged majority, thus you have a lot more wiggle room when i t comes to writing plot without having to worry about unintentionally offending a group of people.

Extremely simplified example: the default Shepard's history is Earthborn/Ruthless, right? Now, if default male Shepard had been black, don't you think people would have been complaining about the unfortunate implications of making a game where the black male protagonist was poor and came from a gang? 150 years in the future and the same stereotype was hanging around. Bummer. It's just easier to use a white male PC because it gives you more flexibility in plot without needing to worry about 'unfortunate implications' slipping in there somewhere.

My canon is a femshep, and I like that Bioware only uses Sheploo in their advertising. It just makes it that much more special to me when I get to see my Shepard doing all that stuff in the actual game.

Reported for actually making sense, we don´t need any of that in here,get out!!!

But it wouldn't kill them to just do a trailer with the "iconic"  female shepard,i play with the default sheploo but it would be nice to see it for the guys and gals who play as female shepards
