Is Tali good for "Rite of Passage?" (or Tuchanka in general)...

Is she the best squadmate to take on this mission?

Mordin, Samara(with Loyalty power Reave), Miranda all make decent ones in this mission. I would think Tali would be one of the worst for this mission, because none of her powers except maybe Drone, which has an insanely long cooldown, would effect anything in the mission since it is all Armor and health.

I like Thane with an Incisor too. I like one armor stripper and one biotic CC'er so it depends on the class I'm playing. I always find the klixen tricky and the thresher maw relatively easy.

If that is a serious question, then the serious answer is no. I just completed it with my Engineer (no Incinerate) and the Varren mostly ignore the Drone. The Klixen will fight the Drone, but they can destroy it pretty quickly.
Mordin is awesome as usual. His Incinerate is useful against the Thresher Maw and Krogan, and his Cryo Blast is all kinds of awesome everywhere.

Not exactly a serious question
This started because I was doing the Revenant version of the ReaveSoldier and was at Grunt's mission. I ended up taking Garrus like I do practically every time. It played out a lot like the Claymore version really. I started thinking about different squadmates and Tali came to mind as the one that was probably most out of her element. So I decided to replay it with Tali. After I was done I started this thread.
Now I have ruined the surprise. The video is queued after the first version so it probably won't be released until tomorrow.
Next up was Mordin's mission. I took Miri on it (who is not a common companion on that mission for me, even if she is one of the one's I use the most throughout the game). Was trying to use Slam a lot. At any rate after I was done I thought since it is such a nice mission I should do it again with a different squadmate. There are just so many to choose from. But since Tali did so well on Grunt's mission I figured, why not give her a shot too? Plus she has a lot of unique dialogue on the mission. Who knows why...
I agree that the drone cooldown is very long. But it can still be useful. Really anyone can be made to work anywhere... just jam that square peg into that round hole.
I still have Garrus's LM, Zaeed's LM, ReaperIFF, Tali LM, Legion LM, SM, Overlord, LOTSB to do with the Revenant. Suggestions for interesting squad's are welcome. Well for the most part. I like to try to get Legion worked in after you pick him up... Overlord might be tricky since Reave isn't all that great against Geth if I take a really "unconventional" squad.

Tali is generally a synthetics-only specialist in ME2 imo. I ruuv her and all, but honestly, she's one of my least used squadmates.
Her main appeal to me is that she busts shields (ADrain + GPS) and hacks all in one package. However, her abilities are pretty focused, and synthetic-only missions are relatively rare, so I usually opt for more generalist squaddies like Garrus/Thane/Samara/etc., who can hit/combo hard vs most everyone.

I have taken Tali on Mordin's mission before and found her pretty useful there. Distracting krogan using the drone is a very effective tactic.

Tali's Drone is too slow for me. I prefer to maximize her anti-synthetic powers instead.
But I do use plenty of cc powers in general. Just not squadmate drones usually.

If you've got her drone upgraded enough I find Tali useful on most missions as a distraction. Until then only on synthetic-heavy ones. Doesn't stop me taking her anyway.

Tali kind of sucks in general, but I suppose on the lower difficulties it doesn't really matter so much what squad mates you have.

It's a good thing I did that mission on easy then!

Tali is only primarily useful in missions that involves Geth/Mechs. Her drone is good, but Tuchunka is too much out of her element.

I actually love taking her on Mordin's LM, if only for her "I'm standing right here!" line when you talk the Urdnot scout into going home.
Her drone is super-useful. Fully-upgraded, it'll last for quite a while as you take down the krogan its not distracting and even the one it is.
