Cunarie? Really? It must spell out how to spell it a thousand times.

Anyways, swing at him until he dies.

Cross-class combos. What's your party? Levels? It's hard to help without knowing more.

Kill him quick. The fight is much easier as a duel, but otherwise just try to spike him down alongside your teammates before one of your stupid casters puts him/herself in his way. CC nearby mobs while you spike him down.

Depends on the class, and what kind of fight you choose to do with the Cunarie leader. I dueled the Cunarie leader as a warrior and had to run around a lot and avoid his attacks then hit him and drink potions and so on...took me ages to win (died two times cause I ran out of potions and the last time just took awhile.)

Cunarie. I lol'd. But that's irrelevant.

If someone's gonna help you, it'd be nice to know what class you're playing. Also, I'm going to assume you have the latest patch installed.

Rogue Hawke: Shadow/Duelist - what mr_afk did in his video. Throw the Gauntley for -50% defense, Vendetta, Decoy, Twin Fangs, autoattack till dead. If you have the item packs, use Beraht's Revenge/Bard's Honor dagger set. Having the Poisonwood Locket will also improve your dmg greatly (+12% nature dmg) OR Shadow/Assassin - Decoy, Mark of Death, Assassinate, Twin Fangs, autoattack till dead. Same daggers.

Mage Hawke: Winter's Blast and Deep Freeze + nature/cold staff. Some kiting is involved, but it's generally an easy time (unless you get stabbed and murdered afterwards).

Warrior Hawke - I've seen duels of 1h Reaver with maxed out strength and Desdemona's Blade go rambo to lower thei health, then stun the Arishok (Combustion Grenade), fire off Sacrificial Frenzy and Assault + Scatter + some autoattacks (mr_afk did that, too). Personally, there's no way in hell I duel the Arishok as warrior. I find fighting his mobs to be much more entartaining and that way it doesn't turn into a battle of attrition. In that case, slay the enemies nearest to your companions, put them in a corner and wait for the rest to catch up. Slay the mages ASAP unless you have a ton of electrcity resistance (which I doubt you do, cuz not many ppl bother with this s***). When adds are dead, proceed to wear down Arishok's health. Look out for his AOE attack.

Something I should've asked first - do you play NM?

Just throw Aveline at him and have the rest of your party supply the damage, preferably, from range.

If you're fighting against the Arishok+Qunari, then it would probably be best to take out the minions and then the Arishok. Killing the Saarebas (x2) is especially a good idea.

Depends on your party. I do best with Hawke as a blood mage, first enslave as many as you can as you can, use anyone and any skill to disable or slow them, cast hemorrhage on the Arishok and as many others as possible - the Qunari are quite susceptible to it. Spirit damage helps a lot as well, be that via spells or runes so a mage with a spirit staff and elemental weapons does a number on them.

Beyond that, keep moving, don't get hit, hit the Qunari often and pot like mad.

On a rogue duelling old horny, put a high damage bow on and run around and assassinate him need some stam pots and stuff but he can't really touch you. I've found on NM that trying to do it with daggers as deulist/assassin (since I dislike shadow greatly) is a bad idea.

Coterie or Qunari?

If you mean the Arishok, then "hit it until it stops moving". You can evade all of his attacks.

I used all the Thief :bandit:backstabby  crit../../../images/forum/emoticons/ninja.png attacks to soften him up and stun him, then just wailed on him:devil:. It was much easier to take him in the one on one fight than the one with him and his guard detachment.

Just did the group fight. Had my party hold at stairs, just around the corner so everyone came to us, then knocked down the two Saarebas as quickly as possible. The rest is just mop up. Saved the Arishok till last while I looted all the other bodies. Had to reload a couple of times- the key to the battle is taking out the 2 Saarebas asap.

Seriously, you couldn't be bothered to take eight seconds and check the spelling of Qunari?

Run, run, run - hit special ability, run, run, run - potion, run, run, run - hit special ability, run, run, run, potion, run, run, run.

I find doing a figure 8 around the two pillars sometimes gets him caught behind one of them for a moment allowing you to hit him with some ranged items for a short time.

BEST BOSS FIGHT EVAR!

I was going to ask "what's a Cunarie?", as well. :)

easiest is rogue shadow/assassin - with mabari - summon mabari as a diversion stealth and use assassinate, then run around till recharge and repeat - you can kill him without losing any health and the mabari usually never dies but continually distracts him.

Mage - force mage with gravitonic ring, crushing prison, glyph of paralysis and several attack spells - realativley easy that way.

the dog is definitely helpful.  Although he doesn't do lots of damage, he can sure distract enemies.

Two things:

1.) WTF is a Cunarie? I know what Qunari is. But I have no clue what a Cunarie is. Is it Qunari crossed with Canary?

2.) Just in case you didnt know, Qunari is a religion not a race. The Arishok's actual race is called Kossith.

That is all, thank you and have a good day :D

Well, he is the leader of the local Qunari, not the leader of the Kossith.
