Favorite: Deus Ex: Human Revolution:
This game revied a dead franshise with he prefect mix of "action" gameplay and what most humans like to call "RPG elements" (aka weapon customization, dialog choices etc)
Hated: The Witcher 2:
The only game I consider worse than FFVII. everything about it was just bad. bad graphics, gameplay, characters, story. I sold that piece of **** after i finished it.

I was initially expecting essentially Oblivion with more snow and some dragons, but the game far exceeded my wildest expectations. Most fun I've had in 20 - 30 years of gaming.
Hated: Gothic 4
It's a game with almost complete lack of freedom of choice for the player. There are lots of linear games like this, where you can't ignore the main quest to go off and do your own thing, in other words corridor, cut scene, fight, cut scene, etc. However, the cut scenes in this game are really bad, which makes it worse. Also, the enemy A.I. pathing is designed in a way where if you take two steps backward, the enemies stop attacking and wait for you to heal. Horribly written dialog and a story that makes absolutely no sense, combined with a railroading, anti-choice structure make for a perfect storm of "do not buy this game."

Favorite: Fallout: New Vegas - just had much more story/side quest choices than I've ever played in a game before. All the characters felt like they had depth, and DLCs were pretty damn good and worth the money.
Skyrim I love for the exploration and Graphics... wish they would have taken notes from Obsidian from NV in terms of story and depth though. And then toss in both Dragon Age and Mass Effect Series, with the exception of DA2.
Worst/Hated - Two Worlds 2, Gothic 4. Two World's dialogue was pretty laughable, Gothic was cringeworthy (especially that damn witch) DA2, was just an average game, expected much more, pre-ordered signature edition and all

Least Favourite - DA2. You see, I don't make a habit of buying terrible games or at least games that don't interest me. DA2 just falls down to the bottom of the pile when compared to all the other WRPGs that I've played extensively. I'd nominate Awakenings if I could instead but that hardly constitutes a full game.

My first RPG. Brillaint game. Can't say enough about it.
Worst Icewind Dale
Nothing that I enjoy. The combination of a battle system based on D&D (ugh, I hate that ruleset, may it die a thousand deaths in fire), a party of automatons (this was the game that taught me I a create-your-own party game is even less enjoyable than a solo game for me). Just nothing redeeamble about it.

To each his own, but bad graphics w/ the Witcher 2? I never thought I would see anyone type that. I can understand the gameplay, however. I was not a fan of the QTEs.

You lost me with "bad graphics"
Everything else might be true in your tastes but graphics? The graphical fidelity in the Witcher 2 is top-notch unless you're talking aesthetic-wise.
Anyways,
Favorite: Knights of the Old Republic
Worst: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Skyrim was strangely enough really good (much to my surprise).

Really hard to choose but in the end I think Neverwinter Nights takes the cake. It was so amazing back in the day, the builds, the customization, the modules and custom content. So awesome.
Least Favourite:
Two Worlds- Just so bad. Everything was bad about this game: the voice acting, the plot, the characters, the combat.

VtM: Bloodlines - buggy unpolished game, but that doesn't matter cause the atmosphere, characters and story are all excellent. The gameplay is fun too despite it's quirks. I'm certain it's the WRPG I've played thru the most times, even if I spent more hours with TES2: Daggerfall. The Witcher and Jade Empire are excellent as well
Worst/Most Disliked:
Might and Magic IX - anyone who played it knows why, it was pretty much universally slammed. Lots of poor WRPGs were made in the 90s too, but meh.

A WRPG that needs to burn in the fires of mordor? Dragon Age 2. It wasn't a game without merit, but the lack of quality content among other issues left a bad taste in my mouth.

probably Mass Effect 1, with KotOR2 pretty close.
There are a lot of others I really liked (notably KotOR, Planescape: Torment, Bloodlines, NWN2, Ultima IX, DA:O/DA2), but the 2 I mentioned above have that special something that I can't really express
Hated:
nothing in particular, really. There were a lot of OKish games though (Fable 2, Oblivion, NWN single player and Gothic 3 with all the game-breaking bugs come to mind)

Mass Effect 2 - It's the ultimate Space Opera RPG. A vast galaxy to explore with a rich history and populated by a diverse and interesting cast of characters. It also improves on many of the flaws of the first game in regards to gameplay and exploration. My favorite from Bioware.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Just so you know, I began playing this title as a fresh faced young noob. I'd never played any of the previous Elder Scrolls games, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into. But... WOW. This is the most expansive and dense RPG world I've ever had the pleasure to get myself lost in. Apologies to Bioware, but this is the real successor to Baldur's Gate and not Dragon Age.
Hated: I can't honestly say I've played and RPG that I depised. I tend to avoid those. Maybe Icewind Dale 2 which frustrated the hell out of me? But I never finishing that one so maybe it doesn't count. I'd like to say Alpha Protocol but I quite liked the story and characters in that one, despite the crappy gameplay.

Skyrim to Morrowind... those three Elder Scrolls games *define* RPGs. Why? Because of all the choices you have for your character. Not though dialouge, but through *actions.* In Skyrim I could roleplay from the very *START.* I could roleplaying a panicked Breton Mage who came from the Synod to spy on the College. Or I could be a serene Nord Warrior ready to accept his death. There are so many possibilities to roleplay it's unbelievable.
The Witcher 1 and 2 are also great. I just love what they did with Geralt, allowing us to define him through his choices. Though the first had much more of the defining part than the second. But I also think that the second has the upper hand in story telling.
I think alot of people forget that roleplaying is done mainly in the mind. So making a choice with Geralt could mean a lot of different things. Much like Shepard. It's not all what it's in front of you, because there are so many motives a game can't really count for all of them.
Baldur's gate 1 and 2 is definatley there, probably my second favourite.
I like Mass Effect and the Fallout games, well all the sci-fi games I have I like. So that's KOTOR, ME 1 and 2 and FO 1 2 3 and NV.
But my favourite *game* and *RPG* of all time is...
Planescape: Torment. There is NO need to explain this to you. If you like RPGs and love great story telling you will ADORE this piece of work. It is without any doubt one of, if not *the* greatest RPG ever made.
