Im not sure what is said but there's a conversation inM1 in the Citadel elevator where Wrex and Kaiden have a conversation about who would win in a fight Shepard or Kaiden. I'm Paragon all the way but if Kaiden gets out of line with my Shepard I'll hit that left trigger.
Ok. . . Kaidan, out ranks Shep now. . .will that have a effect on how Shep operates

Well, On the ship, the 'commander' has the final say, no matter the rank. On the planet though, when Im shooting through enemies with wrex and kaidan... If kaidan decides we should go left and shep thinks right, kaidan can go suck it. I've got 400pounds of biotic krogan to back me up in case he gets lippy.

Well according to that gamer article the council gives back your specter status so regardless of weather you turned them down or not in 2 you out rank VS after that point. I really would tell VS to stow it if they were to give me orders anyway taking the Quaraian defense its my ship ergo you have no control over it unless you board it. I really hope BW allows shep to talk back to TIM and VS since they refused to allow that in 2. A second reason for not having to fallow VS orders for 3 is if you got your specter status back in 2 you auto outrank VS right off.

Oh, FFS. Shep was still in the Alliance for all of ME1. I.e., while Shep was a Spectre.

The leaked beta videos ive watched,ashley was being called Lt. Commander...Kaiden should be the same.Lt. Commander is the rank below Commander.Im quite sure Major is below commander as well.In the navy the only ranks higher than commander are Captain,Admiral and Admiral of the fleet.

In that case, where is the promotion for all the accomplishments? The only way it made sense Shep didn't get promoted for example for saving the Citadel was that as a Spectre he/she is not an alliance soldier.didymos1120 wrote...

Here's what actually matters: who was given command of the Normandy, because that's an all-Alliance crew.
Also, can we just stipulate that everyone is just that (make-believe) badass and won't take any lip or whatever? All this e-posturing is getting tiresome. And for now, we'll just ignore the fact that you'll do what the devs allow you to and no more.

Yea, if Kaidan says anything that even remotely sounds like an order... or hell, if Anderson or Hackett try the same - they're sooo dead cause it's not like we are working together to defeat the reapers or anything like that, and pulling rank is exactly what people do in such dire situations. Seriously though, chill people, I'm sure your beloved Shepards (and mine, too) will stay in command and possibly even save the galaxy.

Suffice it to say yet again: that's not how SA ranks work. Major outranks Staff Commander outranks Lt. Commander. Real world ranking systems are not relevant. See the Codex. Or the topic you're posting in.
