So my understanding of the whole pre-order charade THIS time is that while the N7 Defender armor and Argus Rifle is included in both Gamestop AND Origin's pre-order packs, only Gamestop (and EB Games) will have the Valkyrie Assault Rifle and only Origin will have the AT-12 Raider Shotgun.

Now assuming this is correct (I'm trying to get the PC version, by the way), do you think the best way to get EVERYTHING would be to order it through Origin and then get the Gamestop code some other way, or what?

You could always pre-order from both gamestop and origin, if you don't mind paying for two copies. Other than that, I've no idea.

Also, if I recall, gamestop's exclusive is the defender armor and the Valkyrie rifle. Every version gets the argus.

Seeing as Origin looks like it will be forced onto us, and will be datamining my PC, I object to paying for it even once.

im all about the assault rifle. probably the biggest reason why i main'd a soldier inME1/ME2 is because of the assault rifle even though the soldier's power is not as exciting compared to the other classes.

with that said! 95% ill probably preorder from gamestop. a post by Someone with mass in another thread regarding weapons listed all of the confirmed (??) weapons for ME3 and there seems to be a pretty good amount of shotguns, to me thats enough if im ever gonna play a vanguard.

edit: yes im aware that every class will be able to wield the assault rifle but still, the soldier is my main ^_^

Sandboxie is what I would expect to have to use on the Jolly Roger edition, and not the legit version. Funny how things work out.

Get the gamestop one. There are plenty of neat shotguns already in ME3, like that Krogan one that shreds flesh, so another shotgun isn't entirely too exciting. Can never have too much versatility with assault rifles though, and that armor as well.

Ultimately two things vs. one. Also the opportunity to tell EA to stick it as far as Origin goes. Win win with gamestop preorder.

Plus, you could probably buy it at a gamestop midnight launch event, install it, and play before you ever got through downloading it from Origin.

You still gotta download it from PC, AND wait in line. They only start letting people in at midnight.

You mean install it on PC like I already mentioned? Because the only things that need extra downloading are the random DLC, which I don't need if I want to start playing immediately.

It does depend on whether Origin will do pre-loading this time. Their track record on pre-loading isn't great, but most likely they will.

Gamestop gets the Armour and the N7 Rifle and the Argus Rifle. Origin Gets the Shotgun and Rifle everywhere gets the Argus rifle.

Origin doesn't get the armor, OP. Just the Argus and the Shotgun.

I dont trust Origin..I uninstalled it with my Sims3 and my firewall/antivirus kept flagging it for accessing the internet despite being gone before I dug it out.

go with gamestop pre-order if you absolutely want a pre-order.

Ditto.

Besides, the seething hatred of Origin on this forum and the fact that there are other digital sources to order Mass Effect 3 through will probably lead to Origin having the lowest pre-order count of all possible sources.  That will problably lead to the AT-12 being released as part of a DLC pack later.

+1.  If ME3 requires the trojan known as "Origin" then it will not get even 1 purchase from me.

Infact, Mass Effect is the ONLY Bioware franchise left that I have any interest in, if it forces Origin then Bioware will be officialy dead to me.  My friends and I are in total agreement over this and that is rare.

Anyone knows if there's a folder filled with images against EA and Origin?
I need to fill my HDD with something like that.

I cancelled my pre-order with Origin and changed it to a pre-order with Gamestop.

Armor + Assault Rifle > Shotgun

I'd go for the Gamestop version.

1: You get an additional armor and additional gun as opposed to a single additional gun.

2: The fact the EA owns Origin means that the Origin pre order bonus is more likely to be released as DLC before the Gamestop pre order bonuses since EA makes money off the DLC while Gamestop does not.

Although if you really like shotguns a lot more than Assault rifles then go Origin.

PS:  I had really hoped that Bioware had stopped this retailer exclusive DLC garbage.  We really shouldn't be dealing with this conundrum.
