I hope they learn from Bethesda and show PC gamers some respect.

Another vote for high res pack. Game looks good but theres no reason to not make it look great on PC, especially when theyve done it before with DA2 and now other devs are doing it too, ie Bethesda and Skyrim. Theres no reason to hold back the PC version due to console constraints. A high res pack would make up for removing holstering due to consoles.

I agree, a high res pack would be awesome.

I humbly ask BW to please release one if possible for download. I have a decent enough rig to utilize it.

We had tons of threads requesting this but Bioware or any of the community people like Chris Priestly refuses to give us an answer. Hell even if they said "No can't happen" would be enough.

Well at least our game will run at more than 20FPS and we will be able to mod, despite Origin's best intentions. Hi-res textures would just be candy on top of cake, but I could live without it.

Whats wrong with that, many people made a conscious choice to buy ME3 on the PC due to the platforms ability to offer greater graphical capabilities over consoles and while BioWare does provide a few improvements for the PC version, a custom UI/controls and higher resolutions, they otherwise ignore the capabilities of the PC platform and allow it to be held back by console limitations, the loss of holstering is a clear example of this.

Such expectations for the PC version are even more legitimate when other devs, and even BioWare themselves, have offered PC gamers the option for high res texture packs and enhanced graphic settings on other titles and the fact that many PC versions of games simply come with improved graphical options straight out the box. It just leaves many PC gamers to wonder why they bother to buy the PC version of a game when the devs wont make any real attempt at utilizing the platforms capabilities. I wouldnt ever go so far as to try and vilify BioWare over these decisions, but they have definitely made a conscious choice of their own not to support the platform as well as they could and thats unfortunate and not exactly respecting the desires and expections of their PC customers.

Was quite happy when the DA2 team did it (as much as I was disappointed with that game), would love to see the ME3 team toss us a high-res texture pack as well. The faces look nice enough on the PC, but it's clear the armor/clothing is suffering from the same blurry and low-res textures that ME2 had. Would have figured they could have at least improved them a little bit in the years this was in development.

I'd love this, but I don't think we're going to get it.

By the way,

@masseffect For the PC version, will there be more graphics options or an HD texture pack?

@ryand86 When the full game releases, hi-res textures will be built into the game! #masseffect3

I just found the tweet! Sounds awesome!

Well, let's keep asking (politely!) until we get an answer. I don't think this is an unreasonable question especially with other games on the market getting them (including Bioware games).

See the problem is that they would have to release standard and high-res DLC too. That would confuse to some users and also it's more work for Bioware.

A lot of devs release them, including Bioware (DA2)

There's no high-res texture pack planned. We know that much.

I don't see it happening, bioware just don't care enough about the PC to be bothered.

There was confirmation of High Res textures from a marketing guy, but nothing official announced. We shall see, but I would guess it will be the same as ME2 in terms of quality.

If this is true, I am very very disappointed.

Why would Bioware say there are Hi-res textures for PC then not put them in?

Couldn't that be construed as lying?

No, it can be construed as a marketing guy not knowing what he is talking about. Not the first or last time that has happened.
