No. Not necessary.

The characters are not meant to match the voice actors. They are designed and established, and then given a voice by said, VAs. It's up to Bioware to decide whom fits the VO roles of the characters they create.

Sbarge and Brooks are awesome.

Ice Cold J - Brooks says she was brought in later to replace another actress. The other actress may have been caucasian or hispanic for all we know. Anyway, it doesn't matter what colour the VAs or characters are...

I know. It just irks me the slightest amount that they could probably just change a color texture or something to make it fit and give a little more, I'll use the term, "visibility," to the actress portraying the character.

I know, and it doesn't bother me what color the actors/actresses are. I just wondered why they couldn't make the character more true to the actor.

Your explanation on Brooks replacing another actress definitely makes sense. To be honest, I'm kinda glad they replaced her, cause Kim has been/is excellent in voicing Ash. She's a VERY talented VO artist.
