Seriously though, the guy is just a crap load of potential. He's certainly one of my favorite characters because he's so human. I was hoping to slap the right of conscription across some cheeks darn it.  >__<

He's a walking bad luck charm. He should have a permanent Miasma effect that affects your party rather than enemies.

Eh he's pretty good for a Blood Mage. That Demon was kicking his ass until I decided to make use of his blood magic and the lyrium veins (wisely). Close fight, but it was awesome at level 11 I think.

Well in that case your character is also better than all the other party members, isn't he/she?

Yes in many ways but they bring skills I lack as well. Like lockpicking.

I didn't like him much at all. In fact, none of the companions you have during the non-dwarf origin stories were very interesting or likeable at all, to me.

The dwarves were a big exception to this, though, as both Leske and Gorim were AWESOME.

I don't get what the big deal about him is. I found him rather bland. Though executing him in his cell is pretty satisfying.

He acts human, unlike the other NPCs. Though I'm probably just jaded.

If Jowan is what it means to be "human" then Shale had the right idea.

Everytime I encounter him with a mage PC, my character secretly wonders if he's been made tranquil after all...

What's not to like about a dude who takes responsibility for his mistakes?

haaaa!

Anyway I was totally thinking I'd at least be able to make Jowan stick around my camp with the merchants to berate/whine at/juggle moral consequences and dilemmas at but nooooo.

Let me know if this works. I'll try pulling something simillar for teagan~~~~

For a mistake...  He never really takes responsibility for any of his mistakes except trying to poison the Arl.

I mean, he even plays the player Mage if you 'sided' with Irving in the Origin.

I like Jowan and would love to see more of him. I still feel like I should have been able to help him more, but he continues to make poor choice after poor choice. Thankfully, he recognizes this and is determined to redeem himself, but unfortunately is unable to and is tortured by this. He's a great character.

Invoking the right of conscription in the game would be EVERY KIND OF AWESOME, period. That would rule regardless. Even if five minutes later, you cut off his head with a battleaxe, having used it would be COOL. You'd finally get to see the flipside of being conscripted in yourself. Get to feel like Duncan.

Mmph. He would be awesome, but the Word of Dev said that this will not be happening as DLC (despite it having been originally planned). Maybe as a mod it will occur, but it wouldn't be the same. Jowan is not Jowan without the voice.

If you send him to the Fade he does a good job and doesn't let the demon tempt him. He tells her right off. His character arc is moving in the right direction, and he feels like someone who could be redeemed.

I liked both Jowan and Niall, would've liked to nab both of them for my party and in order to form a kind of 'Circle Mages Posse' and peeved Morrigan off. :D
