Not going to continue playing my mage until they release a Jowan Companion DLC.

Eww, why is there so much love for Jowan? From the moment I woke up after my Harrowing I was hounded by this wanky little pissant who wanted to avoid becoming a tranquil by enlisting me at the risk of me being made a tranquil if we got caught... selfish bastard. I went straight to Irving and relished lying to Jowan the whole way along. And I took great satisfaction in telling Teegan to execute the ******.

My second mage playthrough is a character who hates the chantry and the templars, and supports Jowan purely because she wants to join the Libertarian Brotherhood, and because life in the Circle would be a lot more pleasant without him whining at her

Yes, yes lets have Jowan as a recruitable NPC so that when I do the Urn quest I can have him beside me while my Mage confronts to a ghost version of Jowan, which would make the whole scene stupid and pointless. Dumb idea.

So if they changed the game to make Jowan recruitable, they of course, for some reason, would not change that part as well? You're not using your head. :/

I suppose he gets better during Redcliffe.  Hours alone and starving in the Arl's dungeon while zombies are eating the castle and village will give you a little perspective on how you'd like to die.  No, I'm talking about the origin story.  He lies through his teeth to your PC and Lily about his use of blood magic because he's an irresponsible and cowardly twit, then proceeds to flee and leave both of you to your fate after killing a whole bunch of templars.  Nice guy. <_<

I'm not saying Jowan is an awful person.  He's an idiot with powers too dangerous for him to handle, in the wrong place at the wrong time.  He's certainly not as implicated in his actions as, say, someone like Teryn Loghain or Arl Howe, but at the same time, there need to be consequences for what he's done.

Why are you talking ONLY about the Origin story again?

Invoking the right of conscription in the game would be EVERY KIND OF AWESOME, period. That would rule regardless. Even if five minutes later, you cut off his head with a battleaxe, having used it would be COOL. You'd finally get to see the flipside of being conscripted in yourself. Get to feel like Duncan.

Mmph. He would be awesome, but the Word of Dev said that this will not be happening as DLC (despite it having been originally planned). Maybe as a mod it will occur, but it wouldn't be the same. Jowan is not Jowan without the voice.

It actually annoyed me greatly that none of my companions could be made into actual Grey Wardens. They're just a bunch of retards along for the ride.

Is there any logical reason I can't conscript Leliana? Or Wynne? Or Morrigan? Or Zevran? Or Oghren? Not really, no. Would one or two or all of them object? Surely. But Duncan didn't care. Why should I care? Yes, yes, I know. The ritual. We don't know how to perform it. Minor detail that would've been solved in time (and does get solved, as we all know).

I saw the potential of setting up a really sturdy new Grey Warden foundation in Ferelden, with several great members (if they lived). But nooooo, for some reason, I can't conscript any of them.

I hate Jowan. But conscript him? Sure. Why not? If he lives through the eventual ritual, he's welcome.

Jowan is a whiny ****, but if I could recruit him just to see him die, it'd be worth it. Invoking the Rite is insanely awesome... where are the modders? Here modders!

I have wanted a Jowan party member dlc ever since David Gaider said he was cut and we could have recruited him as a grey warden.

Oh, god, I'm glad he was cut. My mage was so furious at him for lying to her and to Lily. I wanted to gut the little bastard right then and there in the dungeon, but my mage packed him off to the Circle's tender mercies in the end. There are plenty of interesting, complex characters in DA that are less cowardly and idiotic than Jowan.

If I'm to have a male apostate mage for an NPC companion, I vote for Anierin. Yummy adorable elven healer > whiny blood mage.

I liked Aneirin too.

Sort of stuck in my craw that Teagan and Isolde ask you what you want to do with Jowan, and tell you that your opinion is important to them and why.  Then, if you decide to free him, they refuse.  It's the old, "Your opinion means so much to me unless I disagree with you."
