I've purchased it all and enjoyed most of it. I only wish they would put out more.

I have them all; even after initially disliking the game. All of them played very well and gave something new to the game that it needed. Let's be clear-I had the same culture shock reaction to this new installment probably for the same reasons as other posters but I am not a heavy gamer. By this I mean that once I buy a game I try to get my monies worth. I let the game sit for a while and came back to it like that kid in the Never Ending Story came back to the story book after it freaked him out! (Points for whoever gets the reference.)

It is worth it. The only thing I can say now is that if this wasn't listed with a two after the title everyone would love this game. It is still better than most games of the genre and rests in my top games. I want more DLC! Take my money DA team.

I get the reference... I was thinking of getting MotA. This thread pretty much puts it at 50/50 :P

Ah, the ol' "I'm gonna change what you wrote and agree with it" routine.

What are you, five?

Yes, although I have not had the chance to play MotA yet. I loved Legacy though, one of my favorite DLCs ever.

Facts can be disputed and still remain facts. Galileo is enough testament to this. You do not need a universal consensus on something for it to be a fact. It certainly helps, but it isn't required.

I'm curious. If a game sold only 50,000 copies -- and it was intended to sell 20 times as much -- and 49,999 people that bought the game hated it but only 1 person liked it, would you still say "It's not a fact that the game was horrible!"?

\\

TEWR,

I love you, pal, but you're dead wrong on this one.  Your whole post about "**** games" conflates subjective opinions with objective facts.

If a game sells poorly, it can be objectively and actually stated that the game was generally poorly received, or, bluntly, "sold poorly."  That is a demonstrable fact.

However, the phrase, "X was a **** game," is a not a fact, it is an opinion.  How many copies of the game sold is not an accurate measure of the concept of "good" or "bad" because what constitutes a great or a poor game is a subjective matter that depends entirely on an individual's personal tastes.

If, and only if--and this is why it is so important to clarify how one defines a specific term before they apply it--you are explicitly using the sales figures of a game to determine whether it was "good" or "****," can you fairly posit this as a fact.

Otherwise, no, it's not a factual statement, because people generally don't use objective criteria such as sales figures around which to base their answer when asked for their personal opinion as to whether "was X a good game or a **** one?"  They respond to the question based on their personal idea of what a good game is.

Read this article at Grey Wardens if you want information about the actual sales numbers for DA II & Origins.

I bought Legacy i was planning on buying MoTa but decided against it.

The story didn't seem like it would really appeal to me. I'm done with Dragon Age 2 for now. The only thing that would really interest me is if they came out with a development kit. They could charge for it and i'd still be fine with it.

Yes, and it was well worth it. I loved both DLC's a great deal. It made me feel what DA2 could have been.

No I haven't, to be honest got at the moment still too many grips / disappointments with DAII to support it via buying DLCs (haven't even finished my 2nd playthrough and not looking likely atm). They might be a good story or improve on some off the issue, but at present DLCs are out of the question for me. I'll wait and see what DA3 brings to the table, I might reconsider at that point then ...

Of course! Dragon Age 2 is one of my favorite games!!

I bought Legacy when it was on sale. Likewise, I'll get Mark of the Assassin when it goes on sale too... and start my second playthrough!

Nope. Was very disappointed in the Pre-order DLC as well as the game itself; never could really get into it that much. After I finished the game I didn't really feel like I wanted to play as Hawke and friends for some side missions, no matter how exciting.

Excluding the "free" DLC packs that you could get with the Signature Edition/New Game Purchase/Pre-Orders, did you actually buy any DLC packs for Dragon Age II?

Yep, every damn one of 'em and I'd do it again. The armor and weapon packs are pretty sweet (except for the second one) and the story dlc, especially Legacy, is some fun stuff. And when they come out with more story dlc, I'll get that too. And if they make an expansion... I'll buy the hell outta that as well. I guess what I'm really trying to say is yes, I enjoyed Dragon Age 2.

Hm... this almost seems like a 50/50 split between the people who liked the game and bought the DLC packs, and the people who thought "meh" when they finished the game and didn't buy the DLC packs.

No. If they had introduced a resolution of the Warden's disappearance in either DLC I might have considered it, but I'm not interested in continuing Hawke's story.

Yeah, I would have bought that one as well, even though I don't have any interest in buying the current DA II DLC packs.

I bought Legacy and Mark of the Assassin. I thoroughly enjoyed both and would love to see more story DLC. Yes, I really enjoy Dragon Age II.

I didn't buy any. And I bought everything except the Darkspawn Chronicles and Leliana's Song for Origins. Dragon Age II just wasn't that interesting to me.

Discuss!

"Legacy" and "Mark of the Assassin". After playing "Dragon Age II" without the dlc, I was very upset with how the game played out. Once I played "Dragon Age II" with "Legacy" and "Mark of the Assassin" installed, my view on this game had turned 180 degrees.

If you play "Dragon Age II" with the dlc, kill the mages, and kill Meredeth, the entire game comes around full circle. Even though there are many storytelling flaws, I had one of the most enjoyable game playing experiences since "Dragon Age: Origins" and "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I".

All BioWare needs to do is fix the other endings, and "Dragon Age II" would have been game of the year.

Bring on "Dragon Age III"!

I bought "legacy" and "mark of the assassin" surprisingly I enjoyed both these DLC. However I'm definitely not going to buy anything else.
