The armour from all my characters has gone and been replaced with city guard armour which I cannot remove or replace following the Captured! and Rescue the Queen missions.

I looked in the chest when I exited the prison, all my gear was there but not my original armour. I've lost a lot including some nice mage robes, the full Juggernaut set, and Dalish inscribed.

I've played to the point where I talk to the queen and alistair about possible 'proposals' and still the crumby guard armour cannot be removed. Is this OK or have I run across a bug?

I was using quick saves and autosaves and since the game is autosaved 4 or 5 times during these missions I have no savegame I can go back to ... without sacrificing about 20 hours of gameplay.

Possible causes: 

I took the armour disguises when approaching the castle but then got too close to the guards which triggered a fight.

I installed the 1.01b bug fix during this mission.

Anyone know what I can do? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaassssse help!

that's a known bug. i think you pretty much have to load from an old save.

" i think you pretty much have to load from an old save." - before starting the dalish quest line? I don';t think I can be bothered. I want them to come up with a tool that corrects the error in save game files.

I doubt it would take a decent programmer much longer than I've spent playing the game since then. I paid for this, I don't see I should be doing all the work! Bioware ... git yer **** in gear.

Why the ****ing **** didn't they make it possible to at least opt for multiple quicksaves? Why not have quicksave just save the freakin game with a standard savefile, which the user doesn't get to rename, so the number would be limited to 1/area ... better than the current system.

I'm going back to my "never buy a game that's less than a year old" policy. You get to see what it's REALLY like and you get a game with most of the bugs removed, it's a double win!

You don't have any autosaves from before you were put in Jail or a primary save? I always save at the end of a play session and use quick saves during that play time. I use the auto-saves or my primary save to reload of something goes haywire.

It autosaved over all the autosaves that predate the mission during the mission. I have one just before capture, but that doesn't seem to work. When I go to the chest it always contains the city guard armour and my characters do the cutscene back at the castle (when the queen escapes) with city guard armour on too.

this happened to me too. I had 2 saves, one with worn gear and one with bagged gear. I essentially had to choose which save to continue with. I was displeased. I'd like to know if there's any sort of code/what-have-you so I can get my dragonhide armor back, and howe's axe, my tradeskill supplies, etc.

If you miss the dialog in Howe's dungeon with the first set of guards your disguise gets stuck on. If you hit them with an AOE, or in some other way initiate the fight before they talk to you they die and it doesn't get removed. Talking to Erlina is the only other way to remove the disguise. If it is still on when you talk to Ser Cauthrien you are pretty much stuck, unfortunately.

I really don't care if the 2 teams are seperate from one another. I really care if they actually spend more time and resources fixing the game then adding content.

Our Broke Games = There Money & our disappointment, Extra Content = There Greed = One or more games not being bought in the future by me and many others. I hope it's worth it.
