Optimism Vs Pessimist, why won't you give Mass Effect 3 a chance?

You already know this but different design teams as well as different develop cycle. ME 3 will have roughly the same amount of time in development as ME 2 had and whether you like ME 2 or not you can't accuse ME 2 of being rushed.

As I said, I'm neither pessimistic (well just a tad, since I learned about multiplayer) nor optimistic. But I don't give any developer any credit before I have seen my share of reviews and opinions and possibly seen the game in action at some store.
If that turns out to interest me, they will have my money and my praise.

My 9 year old dog has more intelligence than you do. You can meet him, I invited you over, remember?
And if your dog is smarter than me than do you provide the bread on the table or does the dog, also you invited me over? You're 26 PEDOPHILE!!!!!
Lol. I have provided an argument. My assertion is that you're too dumb to engage in legitimate, elaborate and sophisticated argumentation with me. I studied argumentation in college and would destroy your mind, along with your psyche, if you could comprehend just how insignificant and meaningless your pitiful existence in the cosmos is. If there was a constellation of stars in the celestial sphere for "the idiot", it'd be a picture of your ugly, pimply face drinking milk from your mom's boob.
????
I didn't know I was acting like a read the leak. I never, ever said I did. I made a false inference based in information about the leak, but that isn't the backbone of my pessimism over ME3.
And, for once, you're right. In the inevitable end, none of our existences are worth a lick. Better mankind? Yeah, until the Sun dies!!!!!
I form an opinion because I take various elements and form an opinion. It's that simple. I'm pessimistic about ME3, but I'm hopeful and hope beyond hope its amazing. But im very skeptical. However, im keeping an open mind because I love ME and BioWare has talent.
I'm actually more excited for the movie. I can't wait to see Saren on the big screen.

Fair enough, I am getting it because I have put too much time in the first two games not to pick up the third one. I want to see how all of my decisions and more importantly it is finaly time to take on the reapers, as far as as antogonists go they are probably my favorite video game antagonists that I have seen in a long time. Just seeing them attack earth in the demo was enough to get me excited.

I love the first two instalments. But I have witnessed what they have done to the Dragon Age series.
I'm not saying they haven't learned their lesson, but I'm not giving them any advance credit either. If it isn't my cup of tea I can easily wait till it's on sale to have the whole series.

You were making it seem like you read the leak when you were saying there were no branching plot lines and stating it as fact, if you're getting this from idiots like seboist or dave of canada you shouldn't believe them. You also said it failed to follow its own lore and that's when you said the person on virmire was still alive. As for your opinion I can't stand yours or anyone elses pointless cynisicm, you have concerns fine but I get damn sick of reading absolutley nothing but negativity being stated as fact. Now if we have seen 6+ hours of gameplay and it was bad than that's another story but we've only seen about 30 minutes.argonian persona wrote...

I don't get why everyone is automatically frothing at the mouth over multiplayer (Multiplayer? In MY MASS EFFECT? NOT TODAY, ZURG!) without really seeing it in action or even giving it a chance. I think Bioware mentioned another studio separate from the single player is handling that, so I doubt it's going to affect the quality or length of the single player. It's pretty much entirely optional, so you can avoid it entirely if that's your choice. I personally am excited for it. It's a way for me to kind of enjoy the world with my friends, and make another character who isn't human which makes me a very happy camper. Bioware's already shown they can handle multiplayer well with The Old Republic, where the story lines for each class and character interactions are just as good as their single player offerings, and that's in an MMO! Take a look at Assassin's Creed. There's a series that was less likely to offer any sort of multiplayer, and when they came out with it, it turned out being one of the most innovative and rewarding multiplayer experiences I've played on the 360.
I think a part of the problem is a lot of people see one thing they don't like, and that's the immediate red flag and nothing will convince them otherwise to give it a shot. I hate to say it, but most people's complaints don't really seem like constructive criticism, but rather just griping for the sake of griping. Others just don't like how it isn't exactly what they had in mind or expected, or the story isn't going the way they think it should, so it's arbitrarily going to be horrible in their books. These people can't be helped.
For everyone else, we haven't even seen most of the game and what it's going to offer, so let's trust Bioware to give us one hell of a way to end the series.

Someone always has a gripe about something, and others are always hyper-excited about something, polar opposites if you will, but we all have our respective points of view.
I, for one, have a lot of faith in BioWare as developers best some of the best games I have ever enjoyed a great deal over the years and yet keep my expectations in check and well grounded.
Anyone who knows me from the original BioBoards forums knows that I am a long-time RPG fan. I feel that the RPG elements of BioWare games are some of the best you will find in cRPG's.
However, I actually avoided ME at release because of the shooter elements. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried ME 2. I was impressed enough by ME 2 that I finally got hubby to order ME 1, and was very pleasantly surprised by the RPG elements that that I became the fan of ME 1 as well.
I look forward to ME 3 as an Action RPG (and I am no shooter fan) and have high hopes for both the action and RPG elements for that game as well.
