Well, I do the same thing so I can see if I can help.
I believe I have the mod that makes the family always default and then I override those .mor files with the ones I created.
Like, 'hm_carver_h1s1.mor' is the file you want to override for Carver (default Carver).
hf_bethany_h1s1.mor is for Bethany.
I also create a hm_carver.mor and hf_bethany.mor to override the files used during the opening cut-scene.
So, I use pyGFF to export .mor files that I created from a save game and then name them such as above and drop them in the override folder.
IIRC, I once had a problem with a headless Bethany and I think I needed to install the default family mod to fix it...that might be the issue.

So are you saying I need to download the default family head mod or, I'm so confused . and I don't understand how I changed these files. So lets assume I know very little about this all (which may actually be true), how do I go about changing my family heads to match my character IE my character is asian therefor I want Asian family.
Aug! I feel so stupid!

Additional clarification, 1 My Problem My family head didn't match my Hawkes, 2nd I then proceeded
to make thing bloody worse by making there heads disappear, 3rd what I wanted was to learn how to change my family heads(bring them back). The no head problem started when I used the .erf making program to create a .erf file of nothing but Asian family head morphs in put in my
Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Dragon Age II\\packages\\core\\patch folder
before hand i clumsily tried to see if i could edit it with GFF editor thing to no avail.

Yeah, so first grab the default family mod (so you always know what file to override).
What I did was...loaded a save using my Female Hawke and used the Black Emporium to tweak some her features...thus creating Bethany. She doesn't look the exact same as my Hawke but she looks related.
Then, save that game...open the game in the GFF editor.
Do you know how to create a morph file (.mor) using the editor? If not, this post will help.
If you save that file as 'hf_bethany.mor' it will override the Bethany face used in the opening cutscene only.
You also need to create another copy of that file and save it as 'hf_bethany_h1s1.mor' to override the face used by the actual in-game (default) Bethany.
Of course, these files need to be placed in the override folder.
Do the same with Carver (though, you will need a Male Hawke save for this)
This is the quick/dirty way and it works for me...I don't package them in .erf or anything.

OK some these instruction are starting to shine some light on it for me, but it seems that Sir Wesley's head is now missing and the family heads only came back once in Installed the default faces erf file with out it I seem to be the Head of the group (bleh sorry), and now i am getting lazier okay so Asian family is h2s2 how do i make it so they all have that for their faces (that close enough) as well get there head back . I trying going step by step or something.
P.S. I am not use to using GFF editor beyond changing ability scores and I once added a companions talent to my own with a step by step guide.I have very little (not non mind you) modding games.
I apologize for my idiotic newbbishness, and Thank you again.

Yeah, don't actually edit the save game to try and change them (you might mess something else up). So load a fresh save and see if their heads are there and then try to change at least Bethany and see if that works.
I'm not sure if the Asian family is h2s2 but it doesn't matter because you will just override the default h1s1 morphs which every Hawke preset should use with that mod.

I started a new game before trying to make anymore changes , and when i was selecting which class/sex I wanted, the Hawkes had no heads then when the cut scene rolled around Hawkes was bald and beardless and Bethany is still headless(presumably the rest of family would be so as well).
By the way are you saying that if i select one of the preset lets say #7 and edit it, it will still count as the default Hawkes (like my icon or beardly badass Hawke)?

Yeah I do, but that haven't give me any troubles since the graphic colour issues(that was a while ago), so what i need to do is edit "no fuguly" family mod so that it will make my family appear how i I want?
So I installed the mod without editing it( cause I am not sure what i should do to get my desired results), and I am back where I started not the right head but not the default ones (oh but Sir Wesly's head is still gone poor guy)

No, you will not edit anything in that mod.
You will create your own .mor files to override files in the mod.
Did you create the morphs (.mor files) using the pyGff editor?

No Also is that different from the GFF editor or are they the same thing, also your telling me I cant just change/edit the family to one of existing head and that I have to go to CC and go through these steps
"1. Open pyGFF editor and load your save game.
2. Expand 0, expand 16002, expand 16208.
3. Scroll down and select line 16950.
4. In the lower left section of the editor, right click in the box that contains what looks like a lot of random characters and select "export to file".
5. Browse to the folder you wish to save in, and enter a file name with .mor as the extension, and then hit save."

You need to grab this tool if you don't have it.
I'm not sure what you are trying to do anymore. Do you just want to use one of the other family defaults besides the one they are giving you or do you want to make your own custom faces for your family?
I gave you instructions for making your own unique custom family faces (which is the best way to get the siblings to look like your Hawke). If you want to do that, then yes...you follow those instructions gave.
Now, if you want to use, let's say, family 4 with Hawke preset 2 instead of family 2 then that's a different matter.
I personally don't like any of the preset families besides the default (but they don't really look enough like my Hawke) so I followed the steps above to make my own Bethany and Carver.
